Mom lives 2900 miles away, she calls, says moved in year ago and never used oven. Why? No knob; no store had part and she could not figure out temp;Mom not think about thermometer; Dad used to do that for her. Go to your site and start typing in numbers fron Mom's range..found closest match; mind you stove 20+ years old...Mom calls overjoyed friend put thermometer in oven then and it worked; phone call so cute her so excited and all. Thank you for keeping your parts from changing tremendously as now Mom can make all the baked meals she has always enjoyed. Greatful Daughter

The switch for the stovetop fluorescent light failed.
It took only ten minutes to locate the correct replacement switch for my 20+ year old GE range on the PartSelect website, and only two days for it to arrive at my home. After removing the rear panel behind the control module, it became apparent that there were clips on each side that held the glass front panel in place. I removed the screws for each clip and the thumbscrews on the two front-mounted switches, and the glass panel came free easily. Wiring for the new switch was simple plug-and-play (4 leads), and reassembly was a snap. I was VERY careful with the glass front panel, which is NLA as a replacement part.

could not select correct temperature or hold temperature
I removed all the knobs and then pulled the stove out. I then unscrewed everything starting at the top of the stove and exposed the thermostat control. I followed the thermostat line and continued to remove screws and panels until it was completely exposed. I followed the line into the stove and removed the end of the thermostat. I then unscrewed the control and removed the item completely. Then I screwed the new thermostat control in place and proceeded to thread the line until I had it in its proper location in the oven. I then replaced all the parts, cleaning everything before I returned them into place.

The numbers had worn off
I didn't have a part number or a model number, so I went on line and googled 'General Electric thermostat knob', and the first selection was PartSelect. It was easy, fast and most of all, a lot less expensive than I had found at the local hardware stores, even after shipping. The part was exactly what I needed. PartSelect's site is very user friendly and easy to get through. From now on, I'll go to PartSelect for any parts I need for my appliances.
