JM93R4 General Electric Range - Instructions

Element went out on Wednesday; ordered part on Thursday; it arrived on Saturday (via regular service). Took out old part with hex screw drived, installed new and back in business.

Ordered the part on a Friday afternoon and was shocked to receive the box on Saturday AM! Turned off the power to the unit, unscrewed the screws holding in the old element, and hooked up the new one. We didn't have a socket wrench so we subbed a pliers. So easy & cheap! Seems like everything's breaking around this house & this is the ONLY thing that was easy & cost less than $20! Happy with Parts Select!

Getting the part out was easy. Turned the power off (of course) first. The outside nuts were corroded, so had to use a pair of pliers to get them off. The inside connectors were easier to get off. I had a little trouble getting the connectors on the wires. The metal part on the heating element kept wanting to bend. I finally had someone hold that in place while I made the connections. The outside screws were easy to put on. The oven now works great. I think the element was failing over a period of time, and we just didn't notice. I can't remember the last time I actually saw the element get RED hot. Works great. Thanks for your quick service and reasonable prices. Will definitely use you again, when I need parts like this. Used nut driver to remove old element and screw driver to remove power leads. Reversed process to install new element. Took about 5 minutes.

First of all let me say, I am grateful you are supplying parts to an oven made in 1984. I noticed the crack the day before Thanksgiving and immediately started looking for the part because Thanksgiving was the least of my worries. I have a countertop broiler to cook the turkey and dressing in but I am catering a huge party in a week and really need the oven in top shape. Due to minor surgery I have not made the repair but I want to say thank you for getting the part to me on Saturday right after Thanksgiving. Wednesday to Saturday with a two day holiday is incredible. Thanks for the great customer service.

Removed access screws from bake element cover, removed screws retaining wire connections on bake element, reverse procedure, and heat to burn off contaminants.

Removed the two screws holding the mount and then reattached the two wires to the element.

Turn circuit breaker off.
Two screws detached the unit.
Another two screws to disconnect the wires. Reversed above operation for installation.
Turn circuit breaker on.
All fixed!

P.S. Shipping was very fast.

First turned power off for oven circuit at the breaker box then removed two screws that hold element in place. Pulled element out, tested for current, then removed two screws holding wires to element. Took old element from oven and inserted new element. Reattached wires with screws provided, and pushed element into opening. Replaced two screws securing element to back wall of oven. Turned the circuit breaker back on then checked to ensure the oven was working.

1. Turned the electricity off at the fuse box.
2. Took out the two metal screws holding the element to the oven back.
3. Unscrewed the screws holding the element coil, pulled the element out some and disconnected the two wires.
4. Replaced the old element with the new one.

Removed the 2 screws that held element in place. Pulled the element out about 2 inches to disconect the wires. I then reattached the new element and replaced the screws holding the element in place.

First I turned the power off to the oven. Then I tried to take out the nuts holding in the element. One nut came off easily, the other one was rusted on, I had to use wd40 to loosen it. The project was easy once I got that nut off. I pulled out the element, which is connected to two wires. I took those screws out, connected the new element to the wires, re-attached the screws, pushed it back in, attached the nuts that hold the element in the oven. Then I turned the power back on and the oven works like a charm. I installed it the day I got it. I was surprised how quickly it was shipped to my house. I am so glad I repaired the oven, a new one would have cost over $800, I bought the element for less than $30, including shipping! It also sets a good example for my daughter. It taught her that her mom can repair things too, it's not just something men can do!

Removed the broken one by disconnecting the two screws , yellow and red wires and replacing it with the new part you sent me. Very simple.

Removed the bad part. There were 4 screws,
Found part on the internet.
When part arrived I installed it using the screws that I removed when I took out the bad part.
