J301V3 General Electric Range - Instructions

I unscrewed the old burner from the stove, took off the three wire to the heating element marking down where each colored wire went, taped off the exposed wires, ordered the new burner, and waited for it to arrive. When it got here, I installed it, and believe it or not, the new burner works just fine!. End of exciting repair story.

Removed 2 mounting screws - Removed 2 screws used to attach wiring to element. Received new element and re-attached the 4 screws.

The delivery of the part was within 3 days.I only had to connect the two screws had biscuits that night.

Tried contacting GE and no luck, they did not have vintage parts. After searching and locating Partselect, I was able to see a pic of the actual replacement part. I wasn't sure about purchasing online (1st timer) but decided to go for it!

I was able to track the package, although FedEX was setup to deliver to my resdient, I had the package addressed to my office but we worked that out also and walla.

I was very please and now I can bake my famous Pot Roast again. The oven was not working for 8 mos.

Took the old part off and marked the wiring for easy replacing and looked all over town and no part to match, so I went to the Internet and put in 8" burner and luckily found your website. Removed the elements from the stove and disconnected the wires. Reconnected wires to the new elements and reinstalled in the stove. I was very impressed with the delivery time. I ordered online at 3:00 PM and the parts were at my door at 9:00 AM the next morning. Greatest service I ever had from anyone! I am 250 miles from the warehouse.

Repair went fine after I got the second element shipped to me. First element sent was DOA, so I called customer service and they credited my CC for part cost and shipping, then charged the new replacement to my account and mailed it out. Got it the next day. Repair was easy - turned off power to oven took out two screws holding element in place. Unbolted the two wires from element and installed new element. Oven element heated up cherry red and I am back to baking with an oven I thought was a gonner. Was impressed with customer service replacement process. It was fast and easy with no problems. I disconnected the 240 volt supply by removing the fuses from the fuse panel. Next I removed two screws that hold the element in place with a nutdriver. Then being careful not to short or ground the wires I pulled the element out 3 or 4 inches and turned the oven control to the on position and tested for voltage, line to line then each line to ground to be sure the correct fuses were pulled. Turned the controls back to off. Next I disconnected the wires using the same nutdriver and removed the old element.
I placed the new element in the oven, attached the wires using a screwdriver backing it up with pliers to hold the connector on the element, then slid the element into position and installed the two screws in the back of the oven, then reinstalled the fuses.
Partselect shipped the order right away. I ordered Thursday evening and received the element Monday morning using standard shipping. I wasn't able to reference the oven by part number (it is a 40 year old GE oven) but their pictures and 1" grid made it convenient to pick the correct part.
In the past I bought the main control circuitboard for my Kenmore dishwasher, a door light switch for my refigerator, a turntable motor for my GE microwave vent hood, and an element for a Maytag oven. Every time I have ordered parts they were in stock as indicated and shipped right away and were the right part.

Removed the oven shelves. Removed two small screws in back of oven. Gently pulled out element to get to two other small screws connecting the element and removed them. Removed old element. Placed new element in oven connected the two screws to the element. Replaced two screws on back of oven. Replaced the shelves. That's all there was to it.

I have to tell you i got wrong partfirst it was my mistake I got on phone and the lady understood my problem and told me procedure of returning part I got the right partnext day. I watched the video on how to do the job,although O new how. The video was a wee bit off,from what was easy.The man doing the talk through repair showed detaching the connections and bending each one back s as to not go back inside there inclosure. The connectors were way short on this one .The only way to attach the element was to take off back cover and push them together back there. Took couple extra minutes ,but job don e Ps will be ordering something soon

My husband did the repair in about 15 minutes. It was apparently self explanatory and required no directions. Take the old one out and replace it the same way it came out. And viola!!, the oven works like new - all for about $33. Thanks

First I unplugged the oven from the wall. Then I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. The installation process was just as easy as the removal. Approx 10 minutes and I was cooking. BTW, the heating element was at my house the next day after ordering. Great service

First , for safety, I flipped breakers to kitchen applicances to cut off the power. Removed the 2 screws that held the old element in place. Pulled it out a couple of inches and disconnected the 2 wires attached to the prongs of the element. Reattached them to the new element, pushed it back in and replaced the screws. Turn power back on and voila! ... was ready to bake again! All this is a matter of 15 mins!
