Old element had ceased to work.
I removed the two screws that hold the element to the back of the oven. Pulling the element out of the back, I removed the screws which connect the element to the electrical wiring. I placed the new element into position and reconnected the wiring. I made sure that the wiring and connectors were insulated with shrink wrap plastic, then pushed the new element into place. Connecting the two screws to the back of the oven completed the job. Toughest part, kneeling on my knees -- the part supplied fit like a glove and it works wonderfully well. Hint: measure the connectors to the wiring so that you order the correct length! (I didn't and had to reorder, but I am very happy with PartSelect.)

bottom heating element burn out.
got new part delivered two days after ordering. I turned off breaker, used a 1/4" wrench to remove the fasteners holding the heating element to the back inside wall of the oven. used screw drivers (one Phillips and one flathead) to remove the screws holding the heating element to the wires. ensure you pull the wires slight out (easily) to ensure they don't pull back into the oven wall. unplug the element from the wires, install new element in reverse fashion and voila, done.

Lower heating element burned out
I replaced the element. The new part arrived within 48 hours of being ordered. It worked. The part that sticks out the back of the oven with the connections was a little shorter on the new element which made it more difficult to put the wires on but it was not too difficult.

Bad Burner
There was no burner listed like 40 yr old burner that failed. Got one the same size and connections. Cut old burner out of the stainless steel ring and new burner fit right in. New burner works great

Bake element burned out, oven would not get hot
Turned off breaker for oven, removed baking (lower) element, searched website to match up size, shape, and connector-type of replacement part. Placed order and received two days later. Mounted new part in 10 minutes, turned on breaker, and immediately baked fries for children. No problem. Much cheaper and easier than replacing entire built-in oven.

original bottom heating element melted down into wall
Removed the element and put in a new one. Screw mounted interface to 230 mains involved removing two screws in oven wall and two connecting the main wires. Screws were provided with element. Effortless replacement saved an expensive house call and/or oven replacement. Oven is 44 years old and Parts Select had an original replacement part here in 4 days at new years. Part was only $18.45. Parts Select rocks!
