I disconnected the 240 volt supply by removing the fuses from the fuse panel. Next I removed two screws that hold the element in place with a nutdriver. Then being careful not to short or ground the wires I pulled the element out 3 or 4 inches and turned the oven control to the on position and tested for voltage, line to line then each line to ground to be sure the correct fuses were pulled. Turned the controls back to off. Next I disconnected the wires using the same nutdriver and removed the old element.
I placed the new element in the oven, attached the wires using a screwdriver backing it up with pliers to hold the connector on the element, then slid the element into position and installed the two screws in the back of the oven, then reinstalled the fuses.
Partselect shipped the order right away. I ordered Thursday evening and received the element Monday morning using standard shipping. I wasn't able to reference the oven by part number (it is a 40 year old GE oven) but their pictures and 1" grid made it convenient to pick the correct part.
In the past I bought the main control circuitboard for my Kenmore dishwasher, a door light switch for my refigerator, a turntable motor for my GE microwave vent hood, and an element for a Maytag oven. Every time I have ordered parts they were in stock as indicated and shipped right away and were the right part.

diagnosed repair by installing heating element from lower oven into upper oven, and it worked. Ordered proper replacement part and installed using tools above. No problem besides the tight space.

Repair went fine after I got the second element shipped to me. First element sent was DOA, so I called customer service and they credited my CC for part cost and shipping, then charged the new replacement to my account and mailed it out. Got it the next day. Repair was easy - turned off power to oven took out two screws holding element in place. Unbolted the two wires from element and installed new element. Oven element heated up cherry red and I am back to baking with an oven I thought was a gonner. Was impressed with customer service replacement process. It was fast and easy with no problems. This is a forty five year old oven. It was only four screws and it was done. The new part works like a champ! This save me from buying a $800.00 replacement. I removed the two 1/4 screws holding the element to the back of the oven and then took the flat head screws loose from the terminals on the old element. I then put everything back as it came out; took less than 5 minutes and the part arrived overnight! Thank you again!!

Once I watched the video pertaining to the installation of the part, the job was very easy.

Super easy, 1 2 3 steps and your done. Make sure to turn power off, remove two screws off of back plate. Remove two screws on wire connectors. Throw old element away and connect both wires to new element and screw back into place. Turn power back on and start cooking.

Removed the panel screws that hold the bake element to the back of the stove. Then I disconnected the old element from the wires. Attached the new element using the provided screws. Reattached the old panel screws to hold the new bake element in place. Works great.

The new bake element doesn't have an item number on it, so I kept the old element in a cabinet someplace in case I have to replace this one again some day. I've lost the model number for my very old GE wall oven, so without that item number I'll be in trouble.

i removed the two screws that hold the element in place. i then pulled the element out and disconnected the two wires. then i connected the two wires and screwed the element back in place and now it works like new.

The replacement was easy: turned off breaker to range; unscrewed element from range top;opened ceramic terminal box; unscrewed element from range wires. Then I simply reversed the procedure, using the new parts. Easy to do and it only took about 10 minutes.

Easy to do . Four screws,removed cover,removed switch. Installed switch,and cover. Time 1/2 hr.

It was the 1st time in over 30 yrs. that we had to throw a Circuit Breaker Switch located outside in the communal large Metal Box between Condos. Not only did it NOT cut the power off our old GE Range - it turned off one neighbor's T.V. & another neighbor's Washer/Dryer Set.

As more Breakers were tried - MORE ANGRY NEIGHBORS ARRIVED ON THE PATIO. To complicate this - the next-door Condo just underwent extensive (read 3 Months) Renovation including REPLACING ALL WIRING..... and you might imagine the rest. No Breaker Switch numbers matched the Condo number written beside them in felt tip pen... it was complete chaos!

it was hard to figure out the instructions from A switch to B switch to my switch. The first switch was no good the second one was good. prayer book didn't hurt.thank
