FGF378WCCC Frigidaire Range - Instructions

first I removed oven draw for access, then removed the two screws with a nut driver, next removed the two wire nuts and the old element was free. Replaced new element in reverse steps of removing old and the new part ignited the stove within 30 seconds, but now I have no excuse for not fixing dinner!! Thanks for promt shipping, it arrived early than anticipated.

use #1 square drive: remove screws from back, remove 2 top screws from top, remove 4 or 5 screws from front cover and remove front cover. remove 4 screws from old timer clock, tranfer wires. Now, I don't know why they don't include the push pins on the new part, but you have to disassemble the old clock to extract the old push pins that activate the micro switches (putty knife helped). These are one way pins so don't break them. I pulled the rubber covers off the glass front and started reassembly. I put the rubber covers on last and it was done. If I had not cleaned the stove and had noticed the push pins on the first attempt I would of been done in 30 minutes.

I had no experience working on the stove before so it was all new to me. Removed the top cover. Removed the igniters and the burner connections which allowed access to the splash pan. Removed the splash pan and replaced the two broken tubes. Job would have been faster had I known how to access the front burner controls. As a result, we have a fully functioning Tappan range in our kitchen and the range is much better than anything commercially available. They don't make em like that anymore.

moved the stove forward and removed old cord by uncruing two small screw and on ploged the all and replaced with the new one.

Turned the gas and the electricity off to the gas range. Took the two large screws out in the back of the range holding on the first pan. Have to look for them. Took off the single nut holding on the second pan. Used nut drive #10 to take off nuts. Be careful you do not lose them. Took off inoperative unit. Cut wires to unit. Stripped wires which connect to range. Put new unit on and tightened nuts with nutdriver. Spliced wires together and put on wire nuts securely. Taped them to the wires. Put the second pan back, then the first pan. Turned on gas and electricity to test.
Worked fine. Found that the old unit was cracked and had a piece missing. Must use flashlight. Be safe.

take off the old by unsceawing it scraw thenew one onput the wires down the back throw the hole put the wires to gather and cap tham plug the elect. back in and turn it on for to test it wow it worked he he ...richard

took out the cove plate inside oven. romoved old igniter load.cutt and stripped new wire to new ignighter , using ceramic wire nuts supplied. reinstalled all and voila. it's as good as new. PS just for safety sake always unplug appliance from power.

I unplugged the stove then pulled the disconnected the wires that controled the igniter. I took the two screws off that held the igniter to the pilot port. I hand to cut the wires on the new igniter to some-what match the lenght of the broken igniter. Then I cut the connectors from the old part and used the fire resistant wire nutes that where included with the new igniter and connected it all. Put all the screws in tight, double checked every thing. Finally I plugged it in and it was working.

1. Removed top over the oven burner.
2. cut the two wires conneted to the igniter about
an inch and a half.Noted which wire goes to the top of the igniter and which one went to the bottom.
3. unscrewed the igniter from the mount and
carefully pulled it from the oven.
4. put the new igniter wires through the hole.
5. mounted the igniter to the burner.
6. attached the new wires to the top and bottom old wires with the connectors that came with the igniter.
7. pluged the range back in and turned on the oven. Igniter works great.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires...
And re-connected the same way.

remove bottom pan, remove gas second cover, loosen nuts on ignitor, cut wires near the ignitor end for extra slack, connect new wire of ignitor, screw on wire caps, reattach ignitor, replace covers and finished. Very easy repair.

open oven door remove bottom of oven then remome the metal cover over the burner to expose the ignighter remove 2 screws that hold it to the bracket. the two wire's that come out of the ignighter run down under the bottom oven pan, i removed the bottom front cover by lifting up and then pulled out, then i could see the wires i removed the wire nuts and pulled old wires off and removed old ignighter. i pulled off the insulator covers from the old one and slid them on the wires of the new ignighter then i fished the wires back down and and attachted them with the wire nuts, then reasembled the rest of the oven. woks great!

Used a slot screwdriver to pry the old guide...clipped the new guide into its place.

pulled drawer out and took old igniter off and replaced it

Removed broiler pan drawer,removed two screws on element unplugged wires,installed new one. ,Tried oven, works like it did when new. It couldn't have been easier,plus I saved a bunch of money thank you partselect mike m.
