MEF356SEWA Frigidaire Range - Instructions

Haven’t got to repair it yet. For the part has not arrived yet and I have no way to track it. For I’ve never received a tracking number

Remove the old one and replaced the new one. It was very simple, fast, and easy.

Unscrewed 2 screws, pulled the wires out and unplugged the old element, plugged the new one in, screwed 2 screws back in, so easy anyone can do this, it's nice to have a second person holding a flashlight but couldn't be any easier.

Viewed the video and simply removed the two screws with a 1/4" nut driver, removed the existing bake element and installed the new one. Quick and easy, even for someone who is not mechanically inclined.

Unpluged Oven, Removed 2 screws, unpluged Element, Plugged in new element. Replaced 2 screws, plugged oven in. Done 15 minutes.

Removed old element with a nut driver, 2 screws. Disconnected electric wires on element, being careful not to let the wires slip into the back of the oven. Connected the wires on new element, lined up holes with holes on oven and screwed in 2 screws with nut driver. Done!!

Turned off circuit breaker to the oven, unscrew the 2 small screws, pulled the element away from the back, pull element away from the wires in the oven and replace with the new one and replace the screws. Tirn circuit breaker back on

Since I had the element out I cleaned the stove. That took me 2.5 hours. Used cold spray and let sit for two hours and wipe out clean took about 30 minutes. Now for the element itself it took me about five minutes to put the new one in. Oven looks and works like new. Just google your repair needed and watch the video. Easy Peasy. Last time I had it done by an electoral repair person for the tune of about $100.00. This time I bought the part and did it my self. Cost less than $25.00 including tax and shipping. No brainer.

unfastened clip at back of oven w/screwdriver. Pulled out the plug, unplugged the element. Plugged in new element, pushed back into place, refastened clip to hold it in place at back of oven.. Done

There are two philips head screws in the back wall of the oven to pull. Gently slide the element forward with the attached wires. Pull the terminals off of each side of the element, slide on to new element, push into place, and replace screws. The whole job was done in under 3 minutes.

All that was needed was to unscrew two screws holding it to the back of the oven and pull it out to get to the wires. Then unhook the wires and install new one. Less than 2 minutes.

With the stove pulled out and unplugged, There are 4 square head screws to pull a metal plate off the back of the range. Once that is off, the infinite switches are in line and can be removed with a philips head screw driver/bit. I placed each wire onto the new switch as I removed them from the old, to avoid any confusion. The entire repair took less than 10 minutes. Incredibly easy.

First, make sure power is off to range. Removed backing cover, pulled one wire off infinite switch at a time to put in right place on new switch. Easy fix.

Removed 2 screws located underneath the front lip of the range top. Lifted range top and supported. Removed the 2 screws at either end of the support bracket. This bracket holds the elements in position. Be careful not to let the elements fall out when removing. The elements are now free to replace. Swap out the old with the new and be sure to reconnect the wires to the correct terminals on the new element. I did 1 wire at a time so as to not make a mistake at reconnecting the wires. Then replace the support bracket with the 2 screws and lower the range top in place and put back the 2 screws that hold the range top in position. VOILA!! Success. It works. The wife is now happy again:)

Unplugged the range. Removed the top section of the back of the stove to expose switches. Removed the knob, (pulls off exposing the 2 switch screws), unscrew & pull out from the back. The new switch was slightly bigger but the same manufacture and post letters & numbers. Transfer wires one-at-a-time from the old to the new switch. Mount the new switch back in place, put the screws in and the knob on. I plugged in the stove for a quick test, HA....works perfectly. Unplugged again and put the back panel back on, plugged back in and pushed the stove back in it's hole. BEFORE; the old switch when turned down would come back on BUT stay on high, a lot of boil overs. FINALLY: when turned on, it would NOT turn off, a real fire hazard. Thank you for having an original replacement part.
