FGFL79GCF Frigidaire Range - Instructions

Really a no brainer, but I do have to say that PartSelect customer service is excellent. My part was located and on it's way within a day and arrived a couple of days later.

Called service company - they came and told me parts would be expensive. I paid for a service call only.
Ordered parts; they came very quickly. My son and I installed the new parts and the stove now works - all burners.

If you do not intend to take apart the oven door to clean the interior glass, I would recommend you use a clamp to hold the handle and oven door tightly together while you replace the screw. There is a spacer between the back and front panels which could otherwise be shifted out of position. I used a screw extractor to remove the damaged screw and then installed the replacement. Wish all appliance repairs were this easy!

Easy as 1-2-3

Gas stove worked, as well as brolier, but oven did not turn on at all. Replacing the bake igniter part did the trick. It is a simple operation, 30 minutes tops normally. In my case the screw was originally installed a little crooked and had caused it to strip and wouldn't come out. As a result, I had to also remove the gas pipe that the igniter was attached to in order to forcibly remove the screw and detach the old bake igniter. This is what caused the extra time and difficulty.

I actually watched Youtube while I was changing it. This video was not actually the same make up of my oven, even though the I typed in the model number. I manage to figure it any with the steps anyway. It was harder then I expected but not horrible. I think I did pretty well for a women. Patti

I was unable to loosen the screws myself so I called my friends husband to help me. We watched the video together and followed the instructions. The door in the video was a bit different than mine but this repair was easy.

changed the orfices with a 10mm socket and driver handle used an adjustable wrench to tighten the orfice in the bottom of the oven approximately 45 minutes we were using the range

Really straightforward - just took door off of the hinges and worked taking it apart until I got to the front glass that was cracked. Took it out and put the new piece in and reversed the process. Really easy and I got to clean each piece on the way back in to get rid of some spills.

removed the door from the range. removed the 4 layers of glass and carefully set aside the unbroken ones. the 3rd and 4th glasses were held together with a metal frame which had to be dismantled. The old broken glass was rusted and hard to get out of the frame. It had to be cleaned thoroughly of broken glass and rust. the removal process could then be reversed to assemble the parts and re assemble the door to the front of the range

Replaced the oven probe because a no heat problem. also had to replace the oven control. That was a bit expensive but still saved me hundreds not calling a serviceman. By the way, it works like new.....

Moved the stove. Used the template to position the bracket. Put the supplied screws to attach bracket to the floor. Slid stove back into place. DONE!

the wrong parts list came with the stove, so the part I ordered didn't fit. The people at partselect were great to work with.

remove belly pan ,pull draw out easy acsess remove screws and replace

un bolted the 6 nut driver heads found probe wire un pluged it 1/4 turn from lock it was in and pull out replace slide in new probe 1/4 turn to lock it in place replace nut driver self tappers and test simple!!
