Broken worm gear
Knob fell out of the front of the mixer into the bowl and jammed the beater. This caused the motor to strip the plastic worm gear. Open unit to investigate and found about 4 teeth missing out of the worm gear. Ordered a replacement. Installed the new gear once received in about 30 minutes. Wife is now happy again. Just need to make sure you pack enough gease into the new gear before reassembling the unit.

worm gear had broken tooth and gear was loose on sprocket
I dismantled the machine to find the problem and to see what part I needed. Than when I ordered the part I saw the video of how to do it. If I had seen the video before I dismantled, I would have save a few steps. The video was very complete and accurate even it being an older model

The thumb screw plastic came off
Open the package with the new screw and it looked like the screw was wider. I tried it to see if it goes in and as long as you screw it straight in, there was no problem.

Lost a rubber foot on my Kitchen Aid mixer. The remaining feet we're hard and mushroomed. I decided to replace all 5. That was the correct decision.
I griped each foot with a pliers and twisted it out of its setting. I then set a new foot in place and hammered it into place with a small hammer. The feet fit snugly and did not need to be glued. Job was easy and mixer sits like new. I was glad I spent the money to replace all of the feet at once.
