Clearing the clean code was the hardest part.
I had no problem installing the new filter. Just used a phillips screw driver to remove the two screws holding the vent cover in place. Cleaned the dust out of the ducts and reinstalled the new filter. The screws must be held to the screw driver with your finger tips so you don't drop them in the vent cover. The most difficulty I had was in clearing the clean code from the screen. There are no instructions in the owners manual for doing this. But after several tries I got it.

The vent grille mounting brackets broke
The old grille would not stay in place since the mounting brackets disintegrated. I wired the old grille in place for aesthetics and ordered a new one. When the new grille arrived (very promptly I might add)I removed the old grille and mounted the new one with the old screws. It would have been nice if the new part had included new screws because I lost one of the old ones. But I have a cache of old screws so I found a replacement that worked. I was very pleased to find the new part so easily!

in 2 yrs the charcoal filter had NEVER been changed and it was smelling horrible--so had to be done !
--simpley removed 2 screws, removed old filter--but had PLENTY of cleaning to do before putting in the new filter !My husband LOVES to cook and pan fry foods--it won't go that long before being replaced in the future!
