Simple slide the tray into the groove

Removed one screw lowered glass cover removed burned out bulb replaced with new one put glass back reinstalled screw. Dune 5 minutes back in business

Open compartment, installed bulb, closed compartment

Removed the glass cover and replaced the bulb. Very simple.

You had alerted that it was imperative to unplug unit before starting to remove defective bulb. As described, there was silicon on bulb and socket and bulb broke upon my attempt to remove. Had to use needle nose pliers to get metal base of old bulb from socket, then all went well.

Replaced light bulb.

First let me say that I tried several places to get what I thought was a simple light bulb. This included several national hardware stores as well as a national electrical supply company. No luck. Went to the manual and PartSelect. Not only did you have it in stock, ship right away,at a reasonable price it arrived in a matter of days. One would not normally think of receiving a "how to" video to change a light bulb but you did. That impressed me. All the electrics worked on Amana microwave EXCEPT for the cooking function. Inspected the control board and found the upper switch on the door interlock was burnt. Installed new switch in minutes and everything now works fine. Unfortunately, had to purchase expensive two switch "kit" although only one switch was kaput. PartsSelect mailing was SUPER fast. The problem I have with changing the bulb is my microwave is an overhead one and therefore I cannot tip it on its side to easily replace the bulb. I have to drop the lid down and carefully install the new bulb from underneath.

Since others reported similar problems and it was just the fuse we tried that first. That wasn't the problem so we ordered the Door Interlock Switch Kit. Shipping was very fast! Our microwave had 3 switches. My husband asked how to know which one to switch. I read that one person just did process of elimination. Luckily ours worked on the first change out! So happy to have stumbled across this site and not have to buy a whole new microwave.

I didn't do the repair -- my husband did, said it was easy, had no problems what so ever! The new bulbs give a lot more light to the cooking area.

I took the plastic caps off the door to reveal the screw heads (Phillips) pushed on the screws to push the handle out of the door. then with the screw driver and a skinny object (pencil) I pushed the screw out with the screw driver and pencil so I would not lose the screw in the hollow door. we were using the door in the mean time waiting for the handle to come. if you were not there would be no reason the take the screws out. install the new handle being careful not to push the screws out of the hole and snug them up. just tight enough to keep handle from moving so as not to crack the plastic handle. snap the cover on with a little supper glue, done. very easy swap.

unscrewed the 2 broken ends, one at a time, careful not to let the screws drop inside the door. (keep inward pressure on the screw) Attached each end with the same screws. Completed in less than 5 minutes

Popped out the two little plugs, unscrewed the broken bits and left the screws in the door...after reading someone else's feedback about the door being hollow and dropping the screws I thought this was the better part of valor....screwed the handle back on, popped the strip in place and presto change-o it was fixed. Easy as pie!

The door was not engaging the micro switches properly no doubt from 10+ years of wear. The upper switch removed fairly easily but take care not to tweak the plastic brace too much or it will snap. The lower one was the tricky one. After much examination I noticed that the trick to remove it was underneath the brace. Take a butter knife (no joke) and insert it just under the old micro switch and gently press down twisting the micro switch every so slightly til it releases. The replacements snap back in with no trouble. The microwave is working much better now, though not perfect.
