MH6141XKB1 Whirlpool Microwave - Instructions

Unplug the microwave. Then remove the six screws that hold the lower panel which has the light bulb cover and a couple of vent filters. The light bulb sockets are on a fixture that is connected by a quick connect electrical connector. Disconnect that and the whole panel is free to access the bulbs. My bulbs were very fragile and trying to twist them out resulted in the glass twisitng loose with the base still in the sockets. I needed to use a needle nose pliers to remove the bases and then I replaced the bulbs and put every thing back together

Had to remove unit from above stove, this step will take the longest. With unit on table cushioned with a throw rug under it . I removed the case and located the magnetron removed 3 screws, unplugged unit with a needle nose pliers, installed new unit plugged it in and checked the microwave with a cold coffee cup of water . Worked great! Heated great!

Watched a you tube video prior to installing new switch. Followed the video which gave me confidence i was up to the task. After removing the touch pad I found my design was not exactly like the you tube model but I found the defective switch, replaced it and put the microwave back together. Works great. Returned screw.

Pro tip! Check how many bulbs you need before ordering. Mine only needed two. I got two. I suspect I’ll buy a new microwave before new bulb burns out again. Ordering/delivery was fast. No need to have spare on hand.

I had a son put in the new light bulbs. Rather simple

Did an online search for repairs and found PartSelect. Simple to order the part and had it installed myself less than a week later. Thank you!!

Remove from cabinetry, take cover off and had a very difficult time removing the plastic form that has the switched in. Replace the lowest of all the switches, and then again very difficult time getting the plastic form back in. Some of the plastic even broke during the process but not any that could prevent it from working as it did before. I had ordered a fuse, 2 packs of 2 switches as there are 3 switches but only had to use 1 to get it working again. Tested after switch install, put the cover back on and reinstalled in the cabinet.

Unscrewed glass panel, removed old bulb, cleaned glass panel and installed new bulb. Screwed panel back into place.

After reading oven manual , used screwdriver to remove appropriate screws from behind vent. Slid vent out then cleaned vent with dish liquid. Removed old filter by simply sliding it out from easily accessed position. Inserted new filter. Replaced vent with screws. Could not have been easier, no more than fifteen minutes to complete job.Very pleased to have received replacement filter in four days.

Removed one screw lowered glass cover removed burned out bulb replaced with new one put glass back reinstalled screw. Dune 5 minutes back in business

Removed the glass cover and replaced the bulb. Very simple.

Since others reported similar problems and it was just the fuse we tried that first. That wasn't the problem so we ordered the Door Interlock Switch Kit. Shipping was very fast! Our microwave had 3 switches. My husband asked how to know which one to switch. I read that one person just did process of elimination. Luckily ours worked on the first change out! So happy to have stumbled across this site and not have to buy a whole new microwave.

I received my glass cooking tray so fast but when I try to put in the microwave did't fix was to big,I call you today to return and very nice lady help me and told me I need to call whirlpool and explain them and already order again thank so much for all your help you have very nice people in customer service. Due to the way the appliance was installed, it was impossible to get to the outer vent grille mounting screws. My husband was finally able to pry the grille cover off with a screwdriver. I was finally able to clean the grille cover and replace the filter. The grille cover no longer fits as tightly as it should because part of it broke off, but it will do. The builder did not consider maintenance when installing the appliance.
