Replacement of hood light bulbs
Unplug the microwave. Then remove the six screws that hold the lower panel which has the light bulb cover and a couple of vent filters. The light bulb sockets are on a fixture that is connected by a quick connect electrical connector. Disconnect that and the whole panel is free to access the bulbs. My bulbs were very fragile and trying to twist them out resulted in the glass twisitng loose with the base still in the sockets. I needed to use a needle nose pliers to remove the bases and then I replaced the bulbs and put every thing back together

Maytag Microwave UMC5100AD fixes
My Maytag Microwave UMC5100AD was suddenly broken in 1 second when I heated food last time. Then no clock, etc, seem the fuse broken. to fix it, the most difficult part was how to remove it from the wall trim. Finally got it out. Then went HomeDepot to get the same fuse, replaced and used it, burned again. Then I searched online and ppl said the capacitor might be the one. I took it out and measured it, yeah it indeed was a problem since it's not open. Then I order the capacitor from PartSelect about $32. After 3 days I got it and installed it. Done. Sure need to put the Microwave back to wall trim. That's it. Saved about $500 buck if I buy a new one plus labor to install it. Thanks

The microwave would blow the fuse immediately when trying to use.
I replaced the large capacitor (.95 uf). Much of the shell (casing) has to be removed and the capacitor is hard to get to. It is housed in a very inconvenient place. Because of the unfamiliarity of how to access the capacitor it took about an hour to get to it. After receiving the new capacitor it only took about half an hour to install it, re-assemble the microwave, and re-install under the cabinet. Of course a new fuse was required.

burned oven bulb
The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new light bulb in was not the problem.
