KHMS147HBT2 KitchenAid Microwave - Instructions

I ordered another one and placed it inside the microwave. It works and fits perfectly. I received the order exactly as scheduled.

Removed turntable
Place support ring in track
Place turntable on support ring.
Easy, peasy!

First remove three screws on the handel side of the door,then use a thin blade [putty knife or butter knife to seperate the plastic colored face from the door very gently . You must pry up to seperate the catches of the door panel from the door. Work your way back to hinge side of door. Remove the handel from the panel [2 screws] then remove the protective outter glass,push back on clips and lift glass out. Reverse the proceedure the door panel snaps back on to the door easily

PartSelect website indicated replacing the high voltage power supply diode is the solution for "no heat" 99% of the time, but the diode was OK. There is more info at the website concerning the case of "loud buzzing and no heat" indicating the magnetron needs to be replaced. As an electrical engineer with knowledge of microwave components, this was also my best guess. However, getting to the magnetron is not the easiest job, but it's not impossible. You also have to be careful to bleed off any charge stored on the high voltage power supply capacitor. Luckily, I found my KitchenAid service manual tucked away inside the unit since I couldn't find it online.

I loosened the 2 screws at the top, removed the broken-off pieces of the old part, then easily placed the new part and tightened the screws.

The whole process was so easy! It was easy to order the part. It came directly to the house in just a few days.

I removed the two screws on the side. Took a putty knife and gently pryed it away from the rest of the door. I took the handle off the old door and put it on the new door. I took the glass and the plastic frame that holds it on off the old door and put it in the new door, I snapped the new door back on and relaced the screws.

Looked up the Whirlpool Co. and ordered the part. It was quite simple. Arrived in 2 days and I simply placed it in the microware. It was very very easy!

both of the pieces have a tab that help remove the pieces. They slip right out and new ones are putin place.

It took me 15 minutes total - 5 minutes to clean the microwave, 1 minute to install three new parts, and 9 minutes to enjoy my celebratory glass of wine!

First I removed the 2 screws holding the panel on. I then removed the cracked panel. It was held in place by small "catches" built on to thew door. Replacing the new panel was easy, except, I forgot to attach the old handle. I was afraid I would break the new door but it came off with some prying. After replacing the handle, the door went on easily.

After taking the three screws out of the side of the door, I actually had to get help from my Dad who came over and was able to pry the top corner of the door out of the casing. I was afraid I was going to break the door. Once he got the door pried apart, I was able to replace the handle, clean the entire door and quickly snap it back into place and then replaced the screws.

It's a simple repair but costly. Just open the door remove the three screws on the side of door. Now use a small screw driver or metal putty knife to remove the chooker collar around the door " be careful this can easly be broken". Okay now the metal inner door is easier to remove if you slightly bend the tabs up around the door. Look carefully you should be able to see where they catch. Once you do that carefully seperate the outter door cover. Careful sometimes it will pop right out and fall. Please no more further repairs needed. Just screw in the new handle push tabs back out on the metal inner door then snap everything back together and reinstall the three screws.

Very easy to replace. A short ladder provides easy access to two small Phillips screws on the top of the existing grill.
Remove and keep these screws to re-use.
Remove old cover and discard.
Fit tabs on the bottom of the new cover into position on microwave and press entire cover securely in place matching the screw holes to the existing microwave.
Replace small Phillips screws securely.
Step back and admire your microwave!
