CSA1201RSS02 Hotpoint Microwave - Instructions

took of the cover, replaced bulbs then replaced bulbs. One was more difficult to get in than the other but all is ok now. No more stove stop cooking in the dark:)

Removed outer cover and then replaced the T. C. O. located on the left upper side if the unit. Replaced outer cover, tested oven. Oven operates normally.

Have to install cabinets before can install the microwave. Not ready for that yet

Disassembled the bottom of the microwave in order to access the lightbulb sockets. Unfortunately, 1 of the 2 replacement bulbs broke during the installation process - 1 of the pins broke off while trying to insert it. Now I have only 1 bulb so the light is not as bright as it should be. It took me several trips the HomeDepot only to have to return the bulbs. Fortunately, PartSelect shipped the correct replacement bulbs the first time.

Used new rubber gloves so as to not get finger prints on the bulbs. Hope that was ok. Trying to use a paper towel was a nuisance. Also had to use a mirror to see the slots for the bulbs. This was actually a pain to do especially since I am short and was on my toes to do this. Only the bright light works and before there was a night light and a bright light. So there you have it.

FIRST need large flat table 4 or 5 containers for screws take apart in largest sections possible there are many different screw types HAVE PATIENCE ! identify wire locations BEFORE taking apart

I used a phillips screwdiver to open the light cover protecting the halogen bulbs (2) both had burned out and needed to be replaced. A bit akward to replace, but within 5 minutes both were removed. I called your part service department to order replacements,(friendly and courteous service I might add!)was told that they would arive in about 3-5 days. 1.5 days later they were on my doorstep...They were promptly plugged into my GE underhood mounted microwave, now I am back in service! You've won me over and I will tell all my friends about you. Thanks again!

My daughter hand installed bulbs without a problem, took a minute and used a phillips to reinstall the cover. I shopped on-line because I wasted two hours between Lowe's and Home Depot trying to get the right bulb. I did think your postage was crazy high, otherwise glad to get the right bulbs to solve the problem.

I could not for the life of me figure out how to get into the light housing so I could replace the bulb, nor did I have any idea which bulb to buy. The manual for this model descibes how to replace the underside lighting but they seem to have left out instructions about the interior. I watched the short "how-to" video on this site, bought the bulb that was described and replaced the bulb in five minutes without any issues.

Opened the cover. Removed burned out bulbs. Ordered replacements which arrived fairly quickly. Forgot to turn off power to unit (didn't matter in the end!). Using the bubble wrap the new bulbs came in, I inserted the bulbs one by one into their respective sockets. Not really tricky but the surface light is in the back of the microwave so I had to lean over the stove to get all the way back. Once in the bulbs worked fine. Closed the cover. All back to normal.

Buying the bulb and doing the replacement my self was the best thing I had done. The same problem happened last year and I had the American Home shield insurance at that time so I called the company and they took three weeks between ordering and replacing the light, they showed me the final bill and it was $240.00....!!! This time I bought the light through partselect, got it within 48 hours and did he replacement myself within 15 min, I followed the instructions on the video and had to do an extra step ( due to the model I have) but I was able to replace the bulb and yooohooo it was working when I reconnect the power... I am a person who never tried to fix any electrical appliance before, but after this experience I will always try to do it myself... Believe me if I can do it and felt it was easy you can do it.... Removal of the bulbs was easy; reinserting was not as easy due to the configuration/placement of the bulbs in the unit. It was interesting that a simple suggestion to keep the bulbs covered with some of the packing material made sense as to not directly handling the bulb itself and causing any contamination of the bulb(s).

Opened the box, put the glass turntable on the center fitted over the three little bumps.
