Slide out the old ones then slide in the new ones. A 30 second job.

Removal of this "over the counter" appliance was required. After wrestling the appliance from the wall ( the most difficult part of the job) the cover was removed for a visual inspection. The circuit board revealed burned resistors and a capacitor was fried. The 15 amp fuse was not blown. I was able to loosen the circuit board from the framework by removing a few screws and unplugging the leads that were connected to the board. There are two screws inside the oven door jam that secures the circuit board. Once these are removed the circuit board can be pulled out to a point where the screws that hold the circuit board and wire connectors can be accessed and removed. A new circuit board can then be installed simply by reversing the prosses. The board was slightly over $200.00 but my oven was a combo microwave/convection. A new microwave/convection oven would have at least $500.00.

completly removed outer cabinet,discharged capicator,removed some internal parts so I could get at the magnetron,
.removed replaced magnetron,reinstalled inner parts& cabinet .tested microwave viola
everything worked again.

Last week I removed the glass cover that was held in by one screw and removed the burnt out light bulb. I ordered the bulb and left the glass cover off until the bulb arrived. I had to wait until this evening to put the glass cover back on and fasten the screw because I have a window right next to the oven and the sun streaming in made it too difficult for me to see how to put the glass back in and replace the screw.

thank you for the video--very clear, responsible, applicable although the illustration was not exactly of our kind of light. the bulb was exactly like the one Hotpoint used in its microwave made in 1989! I will come back to you for parts in the future. (You have the model # from my original order.)

Removed difuser (one screw), removed old bulb, screwed in new bulb, replaced difuser.

Simple. The parts came instantly. The glass was too big so I had it cut to size. I unscrewed the fixture with a screw driver replaced the bulb and slipped the glass cover into the frame and screwed the whole assembly in.

Removed Cover Plate,
Removed back cover
Bulb disintegrated removed base with pliers
Screwed in new lamp
Replaced cover
Done

took out several screws dropped down the panel under the microwave and unscrewed the bulb and put the new one in. It was a simple job.

My son=law did repair because I am elderly and it was necesary to remove the bottom plate of the microwave which I was unable to do. The microwave was installed in 1987 and I believe this was the first time to replace the bulbs. When my son removed them the bulb was diintergrated. That's how old they were. Once he was able to remove the underneath plate the repair was easy except for removing the old bulbs. I think that I could have done it myself but he was available and I am sure it was done much better. All in all the parts)bulbs) were correct and everything is workiin fine. This is a good place to order replacement parts. In fact I am going to order a new charcoal filter. He took the label off the old one and I am ordering the replacement. After all 1987 may have been a good year, but time for a new one. Mary

With many thanks to those who posted their experience and advice replacing the bulb, I was able to remove 5 of the 6 screws holding the underside panel and remove the socket which contained the broken off base of the bulb and extract it with needle-nose pliers. I had broken off the glass portion of the bulb trying to unscrew it due to the awkward contortion of my wrist-hand-fingers trying to grip the bulb inside the tight recess the bulb is mounted in. After concluding that I needed more information, I did a web search for 'Hotpoint RVM1435' and found helpful advice at partselect.com telling me to drop the bottom panel. Good call! Thanks everyone!
