PSB1200NWW01 General Electric Microwave - Instructions

My daughter hand installed bulbs without a problem, took a minute and used a phillips to reinstall the cover. I shopped on-line because I wasted two hours between Lowe's and Home Depot trying to get the right bulb. I did think your postage was crazy high, otherwise glad to get the right bulbs to solve the problem.

I could not for the life of me figure out how to get into the light housing so I could replace the bulb, nor did I have any idea which bulb to buy. The manual for this model descibes how to replace the underside lighting but they seem to have left out instructions about the interior. I watched the short "how-to" video on this site, bought the bulb that was described and replaced the bulb in five minutes without any issues.

I went on line, put in microwave repair and watched a video on repair. I then took the oven down from over the range and took it apart. I could see were the magnetron had burned out. There was a hole with obvious burn marks. I went on line looking for the needed part. I clicked on PartSelect and order the magnetron. I received the part within three days, regular shipping. As I had not put the oven back together it took only a few moments to save 150 to 200+ dollars. I put it back together and happy, happy me, it worked.

Buying the bulb and doing the replacement my self was the best thing I had done. The same problem happened last year and I had the American Home shield insurance at that time so I called the company and they took three weeks between ordering and replacing the light, they showed me the final bill and it was $240.00....!!! This time I bought the light through partselect, got it within 48 hours and did he replacement myself within 15 min, I followed the instructions on the video and had to do an extra step ( due to the model I have) but I was able to replace the bulb and yooohooo it was working when I reconnect the power... I am a person who never tried to fix any electrical appliance before, but after this experience I will always try to do it myself... Believe me if I can do it and felt it was easy you can do it.... I myself had difficulties replacing bulbs, as I have no feelings in my fingers, so I asked my son while holding the bulb in the bubble wrap, He had no problems what so ever.

Removal of the bulbs was easy; reinserting was not as easy due to the configuration/placement of the bulbs in the unit. It was interesting that a simple suggestion to keep the bulbs covered with some of the packing material made sense as to not directly handling the bulb itself and causing any contamination of the bulb(s).

Removed tiny screw from under the microwave that held the lid shut where the light was located. Took out old bulb and replaced with new one. Very easy!!!!

took of the cover, replaced bulbs then replaced bulbs. One was more difficult to get in than the other but all is ok now. No more stove stop cooking in the dark:)

Used new rubber gloves so as to not get finger prints on the bulbs. Hope that was ok. Trying to use a paper towel was a nuisance. Also had to use a mirror to see the slots for the bulbs. This was actually a pain to do especially since I am short and was on my toes to do this. Only the bright light works and before there was a night light and a bright light. So there you have it.

First unplugged the microwave, took top grill off, took control panel off, took wires off and used color coded tape to make sure they went back in right places, took fuse out and replaced it and put every thing back and it all worked fine and to top it off my wife did it all. So it was pretty easy.

Removed microwave cover using screwdriver and anti tamper bit available at local hardware store. Megnetron had broken magnet making discovery of deffective part easy. Removed wire connector and three screws attaching magnetron to case, removed magnetron and installed new item in reverse order. Installed cover and made popcorn for operational check of microwave. Happy days..........

Disassembled the bottom of the microwave in order to access the lightbulb sockets. Unfortunately, 1 of the 2 replacement bulbs broke during the installation process - 1 of the pins broke off while trying to insert it. Now I have only 1 bulb so the light is not as bright as it should be. It took me several trips the HomeDepot only to have to return the bulbs. Fortunately, PartSelect shipped the correct replacement bulbs the first time.
