Old handle broke off of the microwave
We planned on buying a new microwave but thought well, we would see if there was a part available for a 13 year old microwave. Lo and Behold! Partselect.com had one! It was shipped and we got it in a couple of days. By reading what others (professional installers) said about putting the new handle on, I was confident to let my husband tackle this on his own! We saved a service call and now it works like new!! Thanks

Handle broken at bottem
Believe it or not, all the advice given by others was right on the mark. Unscrewed the top piece, worked the seal off, which was easier then I worried it would be, removed the screw from the broken piece and reversed the process. Even my wife was surprised I was able to complete the repair with no problems. THANK YOU for the help. Bill

Microwave door handle broke at bottom
Followed the instructions from the do-it-yourselfers on your web site which were all excellent and a wonderful asset to your site. It took us much longer than 5 minutes (about 20 min.) because we couldn't get the bottom screw out and then had one heck of a time screwing it into the new handle. Don't know if the srew was too long, too big or what, but we feel confident that it won't fall out!

Operates but does not heat
Found blowup drawings inside unit, which helped identify what I had to remove. Had neighbor assist in lifting unit from wall mount, unit slides easily from rails once top bolts are removed. Pay attention to where all the screws go as you remove them, some inside assemblies will have to be removed or loosened. A good guideline to go by is all black screws hold internal assemblies, the bronze screws go in the back side and the chrome screws go on top, sides, and front of the unit. I was able to lift unit back on rails without any assistance.

Microwave wouldnt heat but power made loud hum
Had to take the MW off the wall, remove the cover, and find the magnetron. Issue was the HV-capacitor. Had to remove the diode and capacitor to discharge the capacitor safely. Crackle-Bang! Then put it back before toying with the HV-transformer in order to get the magnetron out. Took a little under two hours to get it back on the wall and a lot of cajones when monkeying around the chassis removing the capacitor. Not a job for most everyone as this was a potentially high-shock repair due to the voltage and micro-farads held in that capacitor. Hardest part was getting the magnetron to drop out past the HV-transformer. Also, the thermostat had to be removed from the magnetron and re attached to the new one. Fiddly delicate job, not for the clumsy or faint of heart.

Handle broke on the top of microwave
We read the reviews and followed their instructions - boy was it easy. Unscrew the top screw to reuse. Pry the bottom side open with a knife or putty knife - slowly and carefully. You don't need to take the whole plastic piece off jus the corner so you can get to the inside screw. Unscrew - remove old handle - put new handle in place and screw top and bottom. Be sure handle is turned the right way. Sure saved money doing it ourselves. Thanks so much.

The handle on my microwave oven broke and had to be replaced.
The repair was easy. First, I read what a gentleman wrote about replacing the handle on his microwave and I followed what he did. I removed a screw, then the stripping around the inside glass, and then I removed the second screw. Hold the handle to the outside of the door, screw in the screws, then snap in place the stripping. It took the gentleman two minutes to replace his handle but it took me longer cause I couldn't get the bottom screw in place. My total time was under 10 minutes.

handle broke off
Thanks to everyone else on line & part select's tip, I unscrewed the top outer screw, removed the plastic seal from inside that covered the bottom screw, unscrewed that; then just installed the new handle and replaced the seal. It was easy as everyone said.

Handle to GE Spacemaker microwave/hood broke off
I used the instructions that came with the order of the part from this site. Right on target. Removed top screw first. Popped the plastic rim hiding the lower screw using a butter knife and carefully lifting it off at the corners to reveal and reach the bottom screw. I had a hard time initially getting the screws tight given my hand strength using a regular Phillips head screwdriver. The bottom screw also is in a tight space. Then I remembered that my Dad gave me a special kind of screwdriver with multiple heads that you pop on according to size and it ratchets as you turn it to give you more leverage -- and it gets into tight places. Two quick turns and it was done! Like brand new. If I had pulled out the right tool to begin with, I would have finished in less than 2 minutes.
