JVM1490WH01 General Electric Microwave - Instructions

I'm writing because I have never in my life had such an easy time finding a part, ordering it, and receiving it! Your service is truly unbelievable. I still don't believe it and I experienced it. Nothing went wrong and it could not have been easier. Please don't go away.

Opened the cover. Removed burned out bulbs. Ordered replacements which arrived fairly quickly. Forgot to turn off power to unit (didn't matter in the end!). Using the bubble wrap the new bulbs came in, I inserted the bulbs one by one into their respective sockets. Not really tricky but the surface light is in the back of the microwave so I had to lean over the stove to get all the way back. Once in the bulbs worked fine. Closed the cover. All back to normal.

I myself had difficulties replacing bulbs, as I have no feelings in my fingers, so I asked my son while holding the bulb in the bubble wrap, He had no problems what so ever.

Removal of the bulbs was easy; reinserting was not as easy due to the configuration/placement of the bulbs in the unit. It was interesting that a simple suggestion to keep the bulbs covered with some of the packing material made sense as to not directly handling the bulb itself and causing any contamination of the bulb(s).

Placed the new tray in the microwave.

I used a phillips screwdiver to open the light cover protecting the halogen bulbs (2) both had burned out and needed to be replaced. A bit akward to replace, but within 5 minutes both were removed. I called your part service department to order replacements,(friendly and courteous service I might add!)was told that they would arive in about 3-5 days. 1.5 days later they were on my doorstep...They were promptly plugged into my GE underhood mounted microwave, now I am back in service! You've won me over and I will tell all my friends about you. Thanks again!

Took item from sealed box and removed protective bubble wrap. Placed tray in microwave, aligning tray with turntable sprockets. Perfect fit, perfect match! And the part arrived in three days and was very competitively priced. What more is there to stay? Will use PartSelect for other replacement parts. No brainer!

Buying the bulb and doing the replacement my self was the best thing I had done. The same problem happened last year and I had the American Home shield insurance at that time so I called the company and they took three weeks between ordering and replacing the light, they showed me the final bill and it was $240.00....!!! This time I bought the light through partselect, got it within 48 hours and did he replacement myself within 15 min, I followed the instructions on the video and had to do an extra step ( due to the model I have) but I was able to replace the bulb and yooohooo it was working when I reconnect the power... I am a person who never tried to fix any electrical appliance before, but after this experience I will always try to do it myself... Believe me if I can do it and felt it was easy you can do it.... I was so happy to find this part. I had been using an upside down glass bowl to level the rack! once I found part and it arrived it was in in less than 5 seconds!!

Removed the door, removed the old choke cover (breaking all the stap catches), removed the slide door latch assembly from the spring (the most difficult task) then reassembly of the latch to spring, sliding into the grooves along the inside of the door, the installing the new choke cover (very easy with the new one) taking care not the break any of the staps. Easy enough! Another difficult task was to re-install the door to the frame. It appears that the lower "hinge" is slightly bent down to allow easy install but the door now makes a slight sweeking sound when opening and closing.

bought a fuse but that didn't solve the problem. Guess I need a new microwave

I held the door open while the repair man took the black facing off and replaced the latch and reinstalled the facing I was worn out

Replaced the cord, attached it to the light fixture, and then replaced the cover for the bottom of the appliance

My daughter hand installed bulbs without a problem, took a minute and used a phillips to reinstall the cover. I shopped on-line because I wasted two hours between Lowe's and Home Depot trying to get the right bulb. I did think your postage was crazy high, otherwise glad to get the right bulbs to solve the problem.
