The front door decritive trim frame broke off
FIRST OFF I'd Like to say. I phoned my cities Appliance Repair Specialist. He didn't return my call. I rephoned and got him. Told him I need the Door frame. He said GE would make me buy the entire door so just by a new Microwave from him. I went online and this was the first sight I found. Typed in my Make and model number and up popped a scematic. I hit on Door and there it was all layed out in pieces. I hit the front door frame and BOOM Payed for it and two days later it was here. BRAVO to you folks. Since most of the front trim frame had fallen off I just had to pull a little around the outer edges to get the rest of it off. I noticed when I ordered the New Part from you that the front door handle was held on by two screws from the backside of the door. When I looked and couldn't see them I knew they had to be under the inner plastic frame work on the backside of the door. SO I kind of pulled on it at various places around it's edges and it started to pop OFF and I worked it off. Removed the screws and handle that held that last part of the front trim frame. Snapped in the new one. Reinstalled the door handle and snapped the rear door panel back on and it was DONE!!!

Microwave would not heat
I went on line, put in microwave repair and watched a video on repair. I then took the oven down from over the range and took it apart. I could see were the magnetron had burned out. There was a hole with obvious burn marks. I went on line looking for the needed part. I clicked on PartSelect and order the magnetron. I received the part within three days, regular shipping. As I had not put the oven back together it took only a few moments to save 150 to 200+ dollars. I put it back together and happy, happy me, it worked.

All power to the microwave went out.
PartSelect had helpful repair instructions on-line which made the repair easier and faster. Unfortunately, there were other problems with the oven that immediately blew the new fuse I had just installed. It was then determined that additional repair would most likely cost almost as much as a new microwave.

Powered Off completely
After reading reviews that there was no power what so ever and a fuse replacement will solve the problem, I tried it. Replacing the fuse is very easy (and I am not handy at all). All you have to do is remove the microwave cover from the top by removing two screws, slide the cover to the left and pulling the cover off. Then remove the grill in front of you, by removing one or two screws. The fuse is in front of you, use pliers and be firm but gentle. Replacing the fuse is easy but it did not solve my problem.

When trying to run, intermittently, the light would come on but the tray wouldn't rotate or cook. When the door was open, the tray would intermittently rotate.
I pulled out the unit and found 2 interlock switches that are depressed when the door closes. After cycling the door open/closed I found that one of the switches occasionally would stay depressed. The repair was easy (after I took off the panels so I could get to the switch) I simply removed 2 screws that attached the interlock switch assemblies to the main unit. Then I popped out the defective switch and popped in the new one. This did indeed fix my problem.

Instructions too skimpy. Could be more in detail
The toughest part was to fit the glass into the new door frame. It had to snug into the allotted space on all four sides. The plastic frame edging the door was relatively easy to take off and re-assemble. Precision was the key.

broken door frame (3rd time)
Lift the door off set on thick towel and carefully slip the knife around the back edge of the door and pop it off and then unscrew the handle and unclip the front panel slowly and replace. Get an illustration of the layered parts from the partslect website. Be patient as the glass is a tight fit and will be a pain. Good thing is that it is an original GE part, not cheap knockoff although the GE door design is rather dumb so that it should break this maney times with no kids using it.

Outer door panel was broken for the second time
The door comes off fairly easy. Removed the snap on plastic cover. This could be easy to break. The center part of the door just snaps out but the glass is a bit difficult to get out and back in. You have to pull the new panel out some to get the glass in without pulling to hard to avoid breaking the new one.Once the glass is in you simply snap the center part back in and screw the handle back on. Then snap the plastic cover back in and hang the door back on the unit.
