Replaced the fuse. Result; did not fix the problem.

I went on line, put in microwave repair and watched a video on repair. I then took the oven down from over the range and took it apart. I could see were the magnetron had burned out. There was a hole with obvious burn marks. I went on line looking for the needed part. I clicked on PartSelect and order the magnetron. I received the part within three days, regular shipping. As I had not put the oven back together it took only a few moments to save 150 to 200+ dollars. I put it back together and happy, happy me, it worked.

After reading reviews that there was no power what so ever and a fuse replacement will solve the problem, I tried it. Replacing the fuse is very easy (and I am not handy at all). All you have to do is remove the microwave cover from the top by removing two screws, slide the cover to the left and pulling the cover off. Then remove the grill in front of you, by removing one or two screws. The fuse is in front of you, use pliers and be firm but gentle. Replacing the fuse is easy but it did not solve my problem.

PartSelect had helpful repair instructions on-line which made the repair easier and faster. Unfortunately, there were other problems with the oven that immediately blew the new fuse I had just installed. It was then determined that additional repair would most likely cost almost as much as a new microwave.

It was extremely easy. I put the microwave on my table upside down and could see the motor thru the holes in the bottom cover. It appeared as though the outside skin had to be removed to access the motor but after looking at it there is an access panel I did have to cut it loose. Not bolted on. There was a message stamped into the bottom case next to the panel that said to debur after panel is removed. So I cut it loose on 3 sides was able get to the one screw swap the motor and reinstall it in about 5 minutes. It works like new What an easy and quick repair. Thanks

Used diagram on the web-site and a screw driver to replace the fuse and just one of the 2-Terminal Micro-Switches. When I looked at the three micro-switches one of them had a brown connector and you could see it had been burned. I just replaced that 2-Terminal Microswitch and the connector and the Fuse. Now the Microwave is working fine.

bought a fuse but that didn't solve the problem. Guess I need a new microwave

After contacting GE support I realized the only interest they had in helping me was to recommend sending a $$$ technican to diagnose the problem. I decided to go to the Sears Parts select website.to see if others were experiencing the noise me microwave was making. After reading through others posting on the subject I decided to purchase the Synchronous Motor. While waiting for the part to come I decided to lubricate the hub of the spides that rotates the plate with white Lithium grease. After a couple of times utilizing the microwave noise went away so whn the part arrived at me home I put it in a drawer just incase I need it a some future date. I ordered a new one by calling the 800 number, gave them my model number and ordered a new one on the phone and paid with my credit card. It was shipped the same day and I received it on the second day by Fed-X.

Replaced broken rotating ring n works fine now

I installed the new "Rotating Ring Guide" by setting it on the floor of the microwave with the gear socket going through the bottom of the microwave to engage the gear that turns the rotating ring guide. I then set the glass cooking tray upon it and the job was done. About 30 seconds start to finish.
