JVM1642BB006 General Electric Microwave - Instructions

First I unplugged microwave oven, then removed the six screws at the bottom of the microwave and lowered the base to expose the small motor. I removed the motor and replaced it with the new one. From inside the oven I pushed the drive shaft back into the new motor, then replaced the bottom with the six screws. I plugged the oven in and tested it. It worked! In less than 15 min. I saved over $220, and I'm a 65 year old Grandma! Thank you, thank you!

Last week I removed the glass cover that was held in by one screw and removed the burnt out light bulb. I ordered the bulb and left the glass cover off until the bulb arrived. I had to wait until this evening to put the glass cover back on and fasten the screw because I have a window right next to the oven and the sun streaming in made it too difficult for me to see how to put the glass back in and replace the screw.

Removed upper screw easily. It was exposed upon opening the door. The lower screw was behind the plastic bezel that surrounds glass. Used thin knife to pry this part. Lower screw is then removed.The handle is then mounted with original screws.

This is the 3rd time I have used PartSelect to help me repair appliances I never thought I could fix on my own. The troubleshooting knowledgebase walked me through repairing my dryer, the illustrated parts diagrams gave confidence to replace the thermostat in my oven, and now to replace the tray motor in my microwave, all saving lots of money in my pocket instead of the repairmans. ordered part from partselect received in about 3-4 days removed 6 ea screws from lower panel , removed 1 ea screw holding motor in place, pulled wire receptacle loose from motor, threw old motor in trash, put new motor up into plastic tray rotating device turned motor to secure on one side and installed screw to hold motor reinstalled wire plug and panel ops ckd good about 15 minutes to do could have done it quicker but my eyes ain't what they use to be Very easy fix when you get the right part and I got it on the first order with partselect ......Thank You Very Much

-unplug
-remove top and front covers
-unplug wire connectors from heating assembly
-remove heating assembly from metal stand and push out of the way
-remove metal stand from dry
-pull out heating assembly
-install new one in reserve order

Dropped the bottom of the microwave,removed the two screws holding the motor in, disconnected the electric wires, reversed the procedure and it worked like new!

Removed 5 screws to allow lower pan to hang down. Unplug motor, remove 2 more screws that hold motor in and pull it out. and reverse process for reinstallation of new motor. Took all of 4 minutes allowing time to drink a beer while taking the new motor out of the box

First I removed the 6 screws that hold the bottom panel in place. I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires and then connected the two wires to the new element. Secured the element in place and replaced bottom panel.

Remove the 8 screws in the bottom pan covering the bottom, unpluged the lights and motor plug-ins, slid or pulled the pan forward or to me and removed pan. prized the triange piece which fit into the glass tray to turn it to remove it. removed the two screws which held the motor in place. presto, got the model # off the inside panel and ordered the part on the compiiter, \. arrived in 5 days.
P.S. cleaned everything while I had it apart, toke longer than chancing the part.

I removed the five screws that held the bottom plate in place. After removing the bottom plate, I unscrewed the one screw holding the drive motor, unplugged the motor, and then installed the new motor. Replaced the botton plate and then tested the new motor. Everything worked like new.

The part was less expensive than buying it from GE. I ordered the motor on a Monday morning and received it Wednesday afternoon. I was completely satisified with the price, part, and shipping time.

Removed six screws that allowed the "bottom" to swing down; then removed the two screws holding the motor - disconnected the two wires. Installed the motor and reversed this procedure to finish the project.

As in other postings, remove six screws on the bottom of the microwave, disconnected the the plug,unscrew two screws to remove the old motor...(it took longer to get the new part out its box then it did to make the repair) unpacked the new part, put in the two motor screws, put in the six screws to hold the microwave bottom in place and waalaa...done!

about 6 philips head screws along the bottom drops that cover off. 2 more hold the motor in place.

carefully remove the 2 wire plug onto the motor . do not touch or get near the black wire.unless you want to get shocked.like i did.

remove the 2 motor screws.put the new one up and turn untill the screw holes are the holes in the
lower inner cover. reinstall the screws .reinstall the plug and lower plate.

having been a auto mechanic till i retired, helped me a lot.total time to make the repair was about 15 min.

this is not my first order from parts select and all i can say is they rock with the best of service i have ever gotten for appliance parts. and prices one can not found to beat for factory parts.

removed upper vent panel...removed broken frame that houses the control panel display...installed new frame onto display panel...snap frame onto control panel...screwed down...reinstalled upper vent...back in business...
