JVM1651SB003 General Electric Microwave - Instructions

about 6 philips head screws along the bottom drops that cover off. 2 more hold the motor in place.

carefully remove the 2 wire plug onto the motor . do not touch or get near the black wire.unless you want to get shocked.like i did.

remove the 2 motor screws.put the new one up and turn untill the screw holes are the holes in the
lower inner cover. reinstall the screws .reinstall the plug and lower plate.

having been a auto mechanic till i retired, helped me a lot.total time to make the repair was about 15 min.

this is not my first order from parts select and all i can say is they rock with the best of service i have ever gotten for appliance parts. and prices one can not found to beat for factory parts.

removed the srews under the unit unplugged the rotor motor and unscrewed 2 screws holding in the motor. When new motor arrived I plugged it up and put it on with the 2 screws and then put the bottom filter screen piece back on with the 6 little screws. REal, real easy.

easy repair. removed seven screws on the underside of the microwave and lowered the bottom cover. removed two screws from the old motor, unpluged the wires. reversed this sequence to install. took less than 5 minutes.
I had previously read these steps others had posted on partselect so the job was a breeze!

Nice. Half dozen screws drops the bottom, 2 screws on the motor, pop in the new, reassemble and throw in the popcorn. (Was skeptical. Have replaced quite a few of these little motors in data centers. Common part in high-speed printers. Never saw one fail like this but your feedback convinced me otherwise.)

Removed the damaged holder by pulling it out. The new one went in with ease. This sure beat the $90 quoted to us to have a GE repair person come to the house. The part was under $7 and under $16 total for shipping. I think we were fortunate to be able to order this part on-line.

thank you for the video--very clear, responsible, applicable although the illustration was not exactly of our kind of light. the bulb was exactly like the one Hotpoint used in its microwave made in 1989! took screws out of bottom of microwave.dropped down bottom cover to get at drive motor I took out one screw droped down cooking tray motor disconnnected 2 wires reconnected put back up and put 1 screw in ,fastened bottom and was fixed very easy ,and parts select is the best place to find what you are looking for if I ever need parts this is where I will order from service is great and only took about 2 days to receive my part .I went to store where I bought my microwave and they wanted to sell me a new one.saved over $200

This is the 3rd time I have used PartSelect to help me repair appliances I never thought I could fix on my own. This motor repair simply requires removal of 4 screws, and unplugging an electrical connector. Hooray for PartSelect!!!

removed the screws holding the bottom panel, unscrewed the motor. Disconnected the motor. Connected new motor. Screwed in new motor. Replace panel

Removed 5 screws to allow lower pan to hang down. Unplug motor, remove 2 more screws that hold motor in and pull it out. and reverse process for reinstallation of new motor. Took all of 4 minutes allowing time to drink a beer while taking the new motor out of the box

First I removed the 6 screws that hold the bottom panel in place. I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires and then connected the two wires to the new element. Secured the element in place and replaced bottom panel.

Let me keep this short and simple.

Disconnect the power to the microwave
Remove the (7) screws from the bottom panel
Disconnect the wires from the old Drive Motor
Remove the retaining screws of the drive motor
Then install the new drive motor in the reverse order

We removed the vents from under the bottom and then the 4 screws and pulled the motor out. It was a no brainer to fix and the part came in alot faster than expected.

removed upper vent panel...removed broken frame that houses the control panel display...installed new frame onto display panel...snap frame onto control panel...screwed down...reinstalled upper vent...back in business...

took 6 screws out of the oven bottom
removed 2 screws that held the motor
diconnected the power plug.

plugged in power to new motor, replaced 2 screws that held it in place, replaced 6 screws that held bottom of oven

That was it...
