Microwave making really loud noises when operating
This is the second time I've had this problem-once while it was still under warranty and now this time. Quite annoying noise but super easy to fix (just remember to unplug the appliance first!). I used the flashlight to help find the screws as my microwave is installed over the range.
My vent motor has also gone out...maybe I'll tackle that next!

broke the cooking tray while cleaning it.
Ordered through parts.select because GEprice was totally outrageous.
Unfortunately, my first order was lost and after 2 weeks I phoned your customer service and Betty was quite helpful. She followed up (as I called on a Saturday am) on Monday and reported to me that the item was lost. She then asked me if I wished to place another order. I did, of course - it arrived in a timely manner - I placed the cooking tray into the microwave and I was in business!!! Thank You Partselect!!!!!

Broken rack holders
Use a small screwdriver to depress the flexible clip on the side of the old holder while you wiggle it out of its hole. Gently hammer down the edges of the hole so that the surface is flat. This will make for a tighter fit when you snap the new holder into the hole. Just slide the new piece into position and the job is done.

Power worked but would not cook
Took the front panel off, played with the switch while it was plugged in to verify the switch was bad. I actually was able to tweak the switch just right to keep the microwave working while the part was being delivered. When it came it was just removing two small screws and replacing. Very easy.

Turntable wouldn't turn
Followed instructions on You Tube. I had an over the stove model. First I unplugged the electric cord, removed screws from bottom of microwave, removed the 1screw on motor, disconnected the electric wires which just pop off as a unit and replaced the motor and put bottom back on. Easy instructions on You Tube

Microwave appeared to work. Fan worked, timer worked plate rotated. It just didn't heat the food!
I purchased the fuse and 3 door switches from PartSelect. Replaced the fuse first but that did not solve the problem. Then I replaced the 3 door switches and problem solved!! So fuse only cost $5.00 so glad I have a new fuse in there as well. To see how to replace door switches see videos on utube!!

Turntable quit turning.
Disconnected power cord from receptacle. Removed 5 screws in bottom panel and allowed it to swing downward on rear hinged edge. Disconnnected power wires to motor. Removed screw to detach motor. Inserted coupler through hole beneath center of turntable. Inserted motor shaft into coupler and re-attached motor. Connected power wires to motor and then closed the bottom panel and re-inserted the 5 screws.

Microwave would turn on when door opened
Unscrewed numerous screws holding the "body/shell" to the microwave. Removed body. I then unplugged top door switch, replaced it with new one, and "tested" the new one. I fixed our $400 convection micro with an $18 switch. NICE!

When door opened, microwave would turn on
Removed the outer cover to access the door switches. Turns out there were three switches, but I determined that only two were bad. When the small colored tab on the switch is pushed in it should make a clicking sound. The two bad switches had no resistance and did not make any noise when pressed. Removing the switch is relatively easy, you simply pull it away from a couple small tabs holding them in place. After reconnecting the wire leads, insert back into the holding tabs and install the cover.

Microwave wouldn’t shut off when door was opened
Followed the online videos to enter the cavity to the switch holder. Noticed right away the dreaded capacitor was in back right corner behind where the touch pad had been removed. I isolated the capacitor with an old computer mouse pad for extra safety. Took some manipulations to get the switch mount out from behind the wire bundles. Once out front, easy to use small flat blade screwdriver to release each switch and replace with matching new switch. Only one switch was bad but replaced all three. Back together and working great.

Smelling and smoking. Than stop.
I took the cabinet off and saw where the switch had been burnt. So I remove it and order another one from your company. And I put new clips on it with heat shrinks. We might get another 30 years out it, Although I'm 80 years old.
