I checked the new thermostats for continuity and there was none, so ordered one.
The new thermostats also did not have continuity between it's terminals.. so I ordered a second one.. it also did not pass for continuity.. before returning both I installed one and it worked.. so am not sure why continuity is the recommended test to find the original problem..

Cover needs replacing
You have to be very careful because the wave guide cover is very brittle. It needs to be bent very gently in order to fit the four ends into each slot. I would highly recommend buying two just in case the first one breaks.

handle broke off
Well first off I would like to say I shouldn't have to repair a high end appliance that's not even 3 years old. Okay I took the inside of the door off. It was just snapped in. There was a piece of metal covering one of the screws(the top one). I wasn't about to take it out so I drilled an access hole to the screw. Pulled the two screws, replaced the handle, replaced the screws and that was it. The most time was spent trying to figure out how to get to the broke handle to get it off.

replaced cover
I thought the cover was suppose to come off from the inside of microwave. It is brand new and got bent. So I ordered a new one in case it was not working with a bend in it.

Replaced the capacitor. Microwave worked for a few days and then lost heat.
Replaced the diode next to the capacitor. If you replace a capacitor, replace the diode while your in there so you don't have to disassemble and reassemble twice.

Bad door latch kept microwave from working properly or not at all
Electrolux Microwave oven Model EI30BM6OMSA door latch and spring
We were having problems with our Electrolux Microwave oven Model EI30BM6OMSA over the range. The touchpad was working intermittently, counting down without any beep or any sound, and it sometimes kept going after the end of a cycle. We tried first to check the switches. They tested ok. Then we noticed that holding the door slightly up after closing did produce normal operations. The spring felt ok, but the door latches looked a little worn down.
We ordered the PartSelect #:PS2582995 door latch and the PartSelect #:PS1993448 spring.
Removing the inner door plastic cover is a delicate job. Very easy to break the thin catches but we only snapped one (does not show when reinstalled). The inner plastic door liner has to be removed completely.
Removing the door latch part however was a problem. On most videos, it looks easy but not on this model. We had to gently pry/lift plastic hooks on the sides of the glass in order to give enough clearance to remove/reinstall the latch/spring.
Then we were done basically. Everything works now! Woohoo

door latch failed to latch
made TWO (2) parts orders one (1) for latch, (1) for the Spring. Using a dinner knife I removed plastic cover on inside door to inspect the spring and latch. Found both to be in working order, where the spring attached at the lower plastic spring attachment area was broken. In other words I needed another door or Microwave unit, After exanining area I determined that a home fix was possable with 1/16 inch diam. piano wire by bending a tight loop at top and hooked to spring, then pulling down to put tention on spring enough to keep latch in proper possion, I then marked wire and cut it and bent it in a hook and hooked it to a metal fin like brace, operated door works well. TOO MANY PLASTIC PARTS.

Microwave Would Not Heat Up
Unfortunately for us, it wasn't the diode that needed to be replaced. The instructions that were given on how to discharge the capacitor before working on the diode, magnatron or capacitor itself, was very helpful. You don't need to be and electrician if you can follow directions. Ours ended up being the magnatron. It took about 15 minutes to swirch out. I had to buy yhe part thru another site, because it was $40. 00 Dollars cheaper and the part was here in one day. Thanks for the information on the repair.

The grille on was broken.
When I received the new grille, I simply removed the damaged one and replaced it. It was easy and no need to spend all that money to pay a repair person to do it. Same thing when I replaced the handle trim snap-in lock that was broken on the fridge. Easy and no hassle.

Replace handle on microwave door.
It was easy to get the back panel off but getting the screws out to replace the handle was quite difficult. Your prompt delivery of the part was awesome.

The handle on the microwave above the oven, broke. I have seven yr. old twin boys. No one wants to fess-up to it, surprise, surprise.
I opened the microwave door. If you take a small thin screwdriver and pry the inner shell from the outer one all the way around on the door. This releases the two. Then you take the screwdriver and (carefully) pry the shell off the door from plastic snaps all the way around. Then take out two screws holding the metal shell from the door. You have to be quick when this happens the shell will drop down immediately! This will allow you to find the two screws holding the handle on the door. Unscrew them discard the damaged handle. Put the two screws in attach that to your new handle. Put the door back on in reverse order and you have fixed your problem. Have someone pat you on the back for a job well done!

The door handle broke
First of all the replacement part from PartSelect was not the original equipment part and it did not match exactly. However the handle from PartSelect seemed to be made of thicker plastic and the holes did align correctly. First, remove the door by taking a small flat bladed screwdriver and prying up on the top of the top hinge on the door. Tip the door down and forward and the bottom hinge pin will slide out of it's hole. Next with the same small flat blade screw driver, pry the seal/ finish piece from the backside of the door. Next take a phillips screw driver and remove the 2 screws by the latch assembly then take a small flat blade screw driver and carefully pop the inner glass piece from the 8-12 plastic clips on the inside of the door front. This will expose the 2 screws holding the door handle in place. Remove the door handle screws with a phillips screw driver. If the plastic that the screw goes into is broken away from the handle you will need a pliers to hold the plastic piece because the the screw will be tight in there. Screw in the new handle, press the inner glass back into the door making sure all the clips grab the moulding. Next snap the seal/outer trim piece back into place and replace the door on the hinges. Put the bottom hinge in first then the top hinge. It may be easier to use a small flat screw driver to depress the top hinge to allow the hinge pin on the door to slide in more easily.
