AMV1150VAS2 Amana Microwave - Instructions

Open compartment, installed bulb, closed compartment

Removed 2 screws on the top of the microwave and removed top/front piece of microwave. Slid out old filter (which didn't look dirty at all) and replaced it with the new one. Replaced top/front piece and 2 screws. It took less than 5 minutes.

Thanks to the instruction video the repair was done right and extremely fast and easy.

Replaced light bulb.

The filter was just a maintenance issue. The vent grille, as described on the website already, is poorly constructed; the plastic where the screws attach to hold it on break easily. I ended up using something similar to the plastic of a credit card to make a repair to the side that had broken. I ended up not installing the new grille, I thought I would see how the repair I made held up first. I kept the grille as a spare when the old one finally breaks. CAUTION: When you clean the grille, take it off first! The two spots where it attaches are cheaply made and will break easily. Take out the two screws, clean the grille, and then put it back into place. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE SCREWS! Tighten them just enough to hold it in place.

First let me say that I tried several places to get what I thought was a simple light bulb. This included several national hardware stores as well as a national electrical supply company. No luck. You had alerted that it was imperative to unplug unit before starting to remove defective bulb. As described, there was silicon on bulb and socket and bulb broke upon my attempt to remove. Had to use needle nose pliers to get metal base of old bulb from socket, then all went well.

My daugher used the vent grill on the microwave as a handhold while putting dishes away in the cupboard and broke it. I found the part via the Whirlpool website. When the part arrived I removed the two screws, placed the new vent grill in place and replaced the screws. Total time: About 10 minutes.

Easy, perfect

I unscrewed the filter cover, replaced the charcoal filter and replace the cover. The other wire mesh filter slides right into place. You sent me the right parts for my filter replacement on my microwave. Easy install. Thanks

The old grille would not stay in place since the mounting brackets disintegrated. I wired the old grille in place for aesthetics and ordered a new one. When the new grille arrived (very promptly I might add)I removed the old grille and mounted the new one with the old screws. It would have been nice if the new part had included new screws because I lost one of the old ones. But I have a cache of old screws so I found a replacement that worked. I was very pleased to find the new part so easily!

Removed the glass cover and replaced the bulb. Very simple.
