JKP77G*01 General Electric Microwave Oven Combo - Instructions

Unscrewed old element and screwed in the new one.

Removed two small bolt screws that held the bottom burner in place. Unscrew the two small screws that attach the oven wiring to the bottom burner. Put the bottom burner back in place and screw the two small bolt screws back in and its done.

Turned off electricity at fuse box. Unscrewed old element and removed. Put in new element, screwed it in. Turned on electricity. Voila.

Getting the part out was easy. Turned the power off (of course) first. The outside nuts were corroded, so had to use a pair of pliers to get them off. The inside connectors were easier to get off. I had a little trouble getting the connectors on the wires. The metal part on the heating element kept wanting to bend. I finally had someone hold that in place while I made the connections. The outside screws were easy to put on. The oven now works great. I think the element was failing over a period of time, and we just didn't notice. I can't remember the last time I actually saw the element get RED hot. Works great. Thanks for your quick service and reasonable prices. Will definitely use you again, when I need parts like this. several months ago the bake element in my oven started cracking. When it started sparking I knew I had to replace it or get a new oven. I ordered the part and it was easy. The old one fell apart as I removed it. I honestly don't know how it was still heating. Anyway, all I did was turn off the electric to the oven, then I had to remove to screws that attached it to the wall of the oven. That was the hardest part because I couldn't see them well so I had to put a lantern in the oven. Then I had to pull it out enough to remove the screws from within. Then I just reversed the process to install and everything worked great! Saved me a lot on calling a repair man.

On thanksgiving day, as we were pre-heating the oven, electric sizzle, sparks and a little flame comes from our 24 year old oven. We were able to get dinner on the table and that evening I went looking for what I thought was going to be a difficult to find part. But I found the part on partselect. I ordered that evening and got it on saturday. Installation was a snap. The most difficult part was the nuts holding the wires were stuck on from time and heat and I worried about the wire from the small plate to the coil might break. A little wd-40 and a few minutes and they popped right off and right back on. Works great now.

Easy! Removed the screws, took out the damaged element, reversed the process with the the new element. I called in my order on Monday and Wednesday evening the oven was repaired! It doesn't get any better than that. Thanks for the great service.

Took the old one out and replaced with the new one. It was just awkward to get at.

Shut power off to oven. Removed old element with socket wrench. Replaced old with new element, using socket wrench and new screws. restored power. That's it. Fortunately, old screws were not rusted. If they had been, would have used a rust solven.

Part was a breeze to install. I turned the power off to the oven at the breaker. I then unscrewed the bolts holding the old element in and disconnected the wires. I attached the wires to the new element and bolted it back onto the oven. I turned the breaker back on an tested the new bake element. Worked great! Now it heats up like it should. The whole process was very easy.

The part was ordered on a Friday afternoon. It arrived the next morning! Threw the breaker, removed the racks, removed the old element and put in the new one. Done.

Turned breaker off to oven. Removed 2 screws from burned out element in back of oven and pulled it out. Installed new element and tightened the two screws. Very easy.

My oven is 31 years old so was suprised I could still get parts.

Bottom bake element is fastened to back wall by 2 screws remove those first.
Slowly pull out old bake element notice 2 wires are fasten to old bake element by 2 philips head screws. Remove screws from wires fastened to old bake element
Discard old bake element.

Reverse the order for assembly.
Replacement part is the exact fit and entire replacement took 15 minutes.

EASY REPLACEMENT

Unscrewed the two screws holding the element to the back oven wall, then I was able to pull the element out. I then unsrewed the two screws holding the two wires to the element. Installation was the reverse. Pretty simple job.
