Ice maker stopped making ice
Thought that this would be pretty much it for this unit considering it's age. I checked with some of the local repair shops, no one had the part. Did a google look up and partselect.com came up with it.
Ordered part and received it in 2 days. Removed complete ice unit from fridge by removing bottom holding screw and lifting up unit, disconnected power supply (actually you don't need to do this, you can replace in place). Removed old assembly off by removing 4 screws, lined up cam and installed motor unit just like the old one. Replaced complete unit back to fridge and hooked up power. Unit started making ice within the hour. I will usually always try to fix things before sending them to the dump, my effort in being green. I will come back to partselect in the future and will recommend to friends.

Motor was burned out
I had put in a call for a service man, but our son-in-law assured me he could easily repair the ice maker if the proper part was available. Amazingly the part was identified on line, ordered and received within four days. When it arrived it took him less than half an hour to get it installed and working, and I saved the price of a service call. I would highly recommend PartSelect to anyone needing replacement parts.

Ice maker was no longer producing ice.
I'm by no means handy, but replacing the motor went surprisingly smooth. Using the enclosed instructions and an on-line video walkthrough made the repair easy. My wife now views me as an appliance wizard.

quit making ice
We had to take the cover off, remove screws, take off old control and replace items in reverse order. We had the arm in the wrong position at first and it raised the arm and shut off. We redid the position of the arm and everything has been fine since.

Was not making ice
Real simple: Unplugged refrigerator at wall. I just removed cover by wiggling it off and removed three phillips head screws, lined up shaft with motor assembly slot and screwed in the three screws, plugged in and waited to make ice. Wasn't sure if it was going to work took about a day for ice to be made consistently. My repair man gave me an estimate of $185.00 parts/labor I did it for $65.00. This is the second time I have had to replace this part. This refrig. is about 15 yrs. old and still works great.

Stopped making ice.
Trouble shooted system and determined it to be Icemaker Control and Motor assembly. Removed and replaced assembly, but still would not make ice. Determined it to be the optics. Ordered Electronics Control Boards-Emitter and Receiver and removed and replaced both. Everything works now. Partsselect.com got my parts to me very quickly and their website helped me troubleshoot and select the correct parts.

Tried to follow the instruction from the video but stopped.
i am not a mechanic so i tried to follow the video instruction. i am afraid that i am going to break a few parts or not able to put it back so i decided to follow instruction from other customer.
i used a phillip screwdriver removed the 3 screws after i turned off the refrigerator and remove the white cap that cover the motor assembly. the trick is to remove the motor assembly. it took me some times to shake the unit, remove the on and off handle from hole of the unit and carefully with little force pulling and shaking the unit it finally came off the ice maker unit. i placed the new unit by pushing it to the ice maker, replaced the on and off handle back in the motor assmble hole, screw the 3 screws back, cover the unit back, plcae the handle bar down to the on position. plug the refrigerator back and it started making ice after one hours. not quite easy.

Pried out ice blade bar and removed broken water fill cup and replaced with new one.The whole repair costs $9.52 So I saved $ 190 over the cost of Appliance man visit!
It would have been $150& $50 for visit to replace ice maker unit.

Using philips screwdriver, remove three screws from corners of motor mold and remove mold. Per instruction on end cover, rotated strips arm ice ejection tines until they pointed in the two-o'clock position. Dry fit (without screws)new motor mold assembly to ensure that the shaft with flat engaged the socket with flat and that the new part assembly seated flat on icemaker housing re-install 3-screws. Re-connect power source. After 2 hrs. , Confirm that ice cubes are being produced.

icemaker just quit making ice
my husband just took the motor off the existing maker and decided the front part of the unit was bad, I ordered it and it came in about 3 days he put the new front on it and screwed the unit back in the freezer, was about 4 screws I think. Didnt take too long but I would bet the next time it would be easier. Thank you
