Replace Ice Maker
I have a Maytag Refridgerator with lower freezer and ice maker. Stopped making ice. Noticed the unit would fill up and freeze but the tray wouldn't rotate to drop the cubes into the tray. Cleared the frozen trays to see if it was just stuck but same thing happened. Replaced unit, not difficult with the exception that the top tray is ridiculously hard to get out. Never did do it, just worked around it. Working perfect now.

Ice maker stopped making ice.
Unplugged the frig., removed three screws, pulled the motor out, then slid the new motor in. Within a few hours I had ice again. The only problem was I felt the motor was still hooked to something after I took out the screws. Just be firm and pull it out, the pressure you feel is the thin bar that slides into the back of it to monitor the level of ice in the tray. It was REALLY easy.

Ice maker quit working
Read on line that the motor module in the ice maker was likely to be the problem. I ordered the part and it came in as a complete module. All I had to do was to remove the cover, take out 3 philips screws, remove the old module and install the new one. I plugged it back in and had ice within the hour.

Ice maker did not make ice. Everything else worked.
Note: I thought the motor was bad, it was actually one of the gears. Order the motor-gear module. You will probably receive the motor-gear module if you order the motor only.

I removed the hex bolt on the right side of the ice maker. Removed the whole assembly from the refrigerator, diconnecting the cable as I pulled it out. I use a philips screw driver to remove the three scews holding the motor gear assembly. I pulled off the motor/gear module; installed the new motor gear assembly. Reinstalled the ice maker. Easy!

My ice maker wouldn't make ice. The heaters shorted out and fried the wiring and little motor.
Saw many photos on the Internet that looked like my ice maker, but they were different. I put in my Refrigerator model No. and found my exact replacement ice maker right away. I was a little cautious, because the new one didn't include the wiring harness, or the plastic cover. I took the chance and ordered it. Super fast delivery, a Day or 2 at most. Everything went smoothly, and after the new one was in, I crossed my fingers until the timer kicked in, and I started hearing ice cubes falling in the tray about 3 hours later. Success! I had been having problems with the ice maker almost from the beginning. Hopefully, the replacement will last longer. I will say that this Maytag Fridge. is the absolute worst kitchen appliance I've ever owned in my 47 years of house keeping! The defroster went in the freezer a couple of months after the Warranty ended, and it cost me $375.00 to have a Tech, come in to repair. I got away easy this time, buying the ice maker for $135.00 and being able to do the work myself.

Ice maker didn't make ice.
First I did the diagnostics and thought the water valve wasn't functioning so I replaced that, but it still didn't make ice. So I went on line and found the first thing to fix should have been the module and motor assembly. It was a real easy fix because I had pulled the ice maker before to investigate what was wrong. I just removed one screw and disconnected the electrical. There were four screws holding the motor assembly on. So I put the new motor on and had ice in 30 mnutes.

IceMaker was leaking
Had to remove the freezer door. Held on by 4 screws. Removed bottom screw on old icemaker and loosened the top 2. Slid the old icemaker up, removed the wiring harness and installed it on the new one. Took the wire out that turns the icemaker off and installed it on the new one. Hooked new icemaker on 2 screws, installed bottom screw and installed freezer door. Turned water back on and started making ice.

Wouldn't make ice
unscrewed the 3 nuts, took off the electrical connection. Then put new one on. One problem, the ice maker had a hole on the side for the hose, mine needed one in the back. I used tape to hold it in place going over the part that was in the wrong place.

The old unit had teflon flaking off into the ice
First i used a nut driver to remove the bottom screw, the unclipped the two top clips by leaningthe bottom of the unit outwards. I used a mirror to see the two top clips as i could not see inside. Then i removed the wiring harness from the refrigerator. The unit came right out, i transerred the needed parts, and re-installed. Not too bad - about 45 mins. It works great!
