Freezer wouldn’t turn on.
Put the new temperature control unit in plugged freezer back in and immediately turned on. Very simple repair. Saved a lot of money not having to purchase new or call a repair shop.

Compressor Stopped Running. Fan and lights still working.
1. Ensure that the power is completely removed from the freezer. 2. Using needle-nose pliers and a screw driver, remove the wire retainer holding the controller assembly to the compressor and remove the controller assembly by pulling away from the compressor. 3. Cut the two wires from the existing controller assembly and strip the ends about a quarter of an inch. 4. Slide the heat shrink tubing over the wires of the connector provided with the controller kit. 5. Use the Blue Barrel connectors provided with the controller kit to connect the controller wires provided in the kit to the existing wires of the freezer. **Ensure that they are well crimped. 6. Using a heat gun, shrink the tubing to fit over the connector and wires. **Be careful not to overheat. 7. Plug the connector into the new controller provided in the kit. 8. Plug the controller assembly back into the socket on the compressor. 9. Reattach the wire retainer securely to hold the controller assembly to the compressor. 10. Plug in the freezer and adjust the thermostat so that the compressor energizes. If the controller was the issue your freezer should begin to cool.

Initially on full time then off full time
A 1,2,3 approach: 1, order the right part at the best price, Part Select has easy to navigate website and provides updated info on what will work in your appliance at a fraction of other site costs. 2. Configure the appliance to control the temp for a few days to save the food. This is accomplished by jumpering the two control wires to keep the compressor on and plugging the appliance cord into a timer with a 2hr on and 4hr off cycle. use the thermometer verify 0 degrees. 3. When the temp control is delivered unplug the power cord and proceed to repace the temp control, using care not to crimp the temp sensor bulb tubing. A #1 phillips screwdriver will release the control housing and temp sensor clamp assy. When complete set control to mid range and plug appliance into wall outlet. Use thermometer to set desired temp.

Gasket was worn and needed replaced. It was causing frost to form around inside of door.
Pulled the freezer out and unscrewed the screws around door. Gasket slide right out. After placing the new gasket, I used a hair dryer and sealed the gasket tighter. Works like a charm!! Very pleased with this do-it-yourself fix.

Original freezer gasket worn out
Removed old gasket by backing out screws around inner door panel. I did not remove the screws just loosened in order to remove old gasket. Starting from the top of the inner door panel I set the old gasket and squared off. Tightened top screws and worked the gasket in on the sides and tightened several of the screws on the sides then set the bottom of gasket in the door. Inserting the gasket in the bottom was the hardest part of the job. The overall job took less time than expected.
