DDG5180RBLWW Whirlpool Dryer - Instructions

Installed new coil, helped but have other issues that I'm troubleshooting.

I shut off the power supply (pulled plug) . Opened the front access door on bottom of dryer, The two coils sat on top of burner unit, with a plate and 2 Phillip head screws securing them. .I used a small set of pliers to pull the terminals off, then I used a short Phillip head screw driver due to the proximity of the dryer drum close by. The coils slide off, slide the new ones on, re secure the plate with screws, reconnect the terminals, plug in the power cord and away you are for a fraction of the cost.

First we removed the front panel then the door. Removed the old coils and put in the new coils, oh yeah don't forget to disconnect the power supply first. Sure enough that was all it took and it runs great. You really can fix your own appliance if you take the time to do some research.

i removed the door and front panel then removed the two screws holding the coil bracket,disconnected the two wires on coils,set new coils in place and reversed the above process

I watched a video. The man speaking was Wayne from parts direct. He made the repair go so smoothly. I enjoyed watching him and I hope you include him in more videos. Had dryer apart and back together (after I had to take top back off, to re-attach the door switch, which I forgot. Had a senior moment!!) in 15 min.And working as good as new. Thank you Wayne. Finding parts for very old appliances (that otherwise are working great!) was very much appreciated...lint filters are very very important and this one has served it's useful life. Thank you for such an amazing parts inventory, good prices, and FAST delivery!

1. Unplugged from wall, turned off gas and opened top cover. 2. Removed two wire clips for door switch and unscrewed front cover (2 screws inside). 3. Removed front cover and moved to side. 4. Unplugged connectors from coils. 5. Unscrewed coil screws. 6. Replaced coils and tightened screws. 7. Replaced front cover, tightened screws and reinstalled wire clips. 8. Closed top cover, turned on gas and plugged in power. 9. Dryer fired right up and made heat.

Pulled the old filter out of the door of the dryer and then removed the new filter from the shipping box and took the new Lint filter out of the packaging and then slipped the new lint filter into the lint filter holder and started up the dryer and away we went on our happy way. Thanks to all of you guys and gals at PARTS SELECT.

I just replaced the old filter with the new filter and I wonder why I didn't order a replacement filter sooner.

Long eventful troubleshooting. No success. Read your troubleshooting guide. Showed either high temp. sensor or timer. One person commented go straight to timer. So I did. 2 minuite repair, back in service. Thanks

Took the old filter out and inserted the new filter which was a near perfect fit on a 36 year old dryed that is still kicking! Delivery of the part was less than 24 hours after ordering over the phone. Thanks1

This wan't a repair. It was simply a part replacement for a part that was easily accessable. I was more pleased at the fact that I could find the part considering how old the dryer is.
