dryer turned on but would not spin
Watched video on You Tube, ordered parts online and used excellent instructions sent with belt and other parts in kit. Turn power off by unplugging cord, lift out lint screen, remove screws in lint screen slot, pry up top of dryer with wood chisel or heavy screwdriver, unplug wires top front of dryer, remove self-tapping screws holding front panel in place, lift out drum, remove and replace all parts included in kit, lifted drum back into place, placed detergent bottle under drum to hold it in place while attaching new belt, asked wife to hold lightweight drum in place while I reattached electrical wires and front of dryer. Lowered top of dryer into place and reinstalled lint screen, Be careful! Panels are thin and cut like a knife. Also the dryer lid can fall if you slide the dryer into the wall while working below.

When started, the motor would run but the drum would not turn.
After removing the bottom front panel using a putty knife to pry the upper left and right edges of the panel, I noticed that the long thin drum belt had broken. I went online to PartSelect, and using the Whirlpool model number, found the parts diagrams. Since the dryer is 20 years old, I decided to order the maintenance kit part# PS373087 which includes new idler wheels, retainer clips, and a tension pulley as well as the belt . I found a number of webpages that offer guidance in replacing the belt. Along with the instructions that came with the maintenance kit, I was able to do the repairs and have the dryer up and running in 30 minutes. Remember to remove the door springs before taking off the upper front panel. You only need to loosen the bottom screws on this panel. Leaving them in place helps to align and hold the panel when re-installing it.

Dryer was clunking very loudly
Followed instructions that came with the dryer with the exception of the idler pulley which I didn't install because this maintenance kits idler pulley does not match my dryers. Not even close. I would have had to cut or drill holes to make it work. Since I knew it was the rollers that were the problem. Dryer worked great once I was done, but it probably would have been cheaper for me to order the parts individually without the Idler Pulley if I wasn't going to replace one.

broken dryer belt
Everyone said changing a dryer belt was a piece of cake. They did not tell the truth it is a difficult job. I am a 52 year old female and I had a problem. You have to take the whole drum out. I finally completed the job but i had to prop the drum up with blocks so I could screw in the front panel. I think for those who want to change the belt I would go smoother with two people so the can hold things in place while the other one screws the panels back. I also think taking the dryer door off make the front panel a lot more easier to put in palce.

Loud squeaky that turned into a rattling noise
I watched your video that showed me how to remove the top then the face of the dryer. I then removed the drum and belt, after which I could then remove the support wheels and the belt tension wheel.I replaced the support wheels and tension wheel, the hardest part was removing the little plastic locking keepers that hold the support wheels in place. After that I was able to reinstall the drum with the new belt and reinstall the face and top of the dryer. My 15 year old dryer works great just like new. Thanks

Broken belt.
Took the back off of the dryer and diagnosed the problem. When I saw that the belt was broken I got online and looked for a place to find a replacement. Found Partselect.com and checked out their site and not only did I find the right parts but I also found a video detailing the repair. I purchased a maintenance kit (the belt, the wheels, and the hardware) and the next day my parts arrived and I was able to get the dryer back together in no time at all.

Dryer making loud noise on startup and during cycle sometimes.
Followed the procedure outlined in instructions included with maintenance kit. My dryer did not have a pully wheel on the idler arm. Instead it was more or less a wear bar formed in a semi circle attached to the idler bar. This is what was causing the noise. The dryer wheels were good and the dryer belt was good too after 10 years of use. The parts in the kit were of good quality and fit perfectly. The supplied instructions were easy to follow.

Broken belt
I did as your online movie said to do it. It is a big help and you can see that the belt, rollers and idler pulley is not a difficult job and you save yourself at least $100. Toughest part of job is putting back the nylon triangle things that hold the rollers on without breaking them. That is why I used the needlenose pliers. The triangle things that hold on the rollers have little tabs on them and I just gently pulled them outward and the triangles went right on.That repair kit from Whirlpool(builder of my Kenmore dryer)was a real bargain and everything fit perfectly. Bottom line is don't be afraid to try this repair. You will most likely succede. Go out to diner with the money you saved. Good luck, Mike

Broken Dryer Belt
Ordered entire Maintenance kit - good call because it was the tensioner pulley that failed and cut the belt. To replace, had to raise the top (2 screws in lint screen slot)and pull the entire front off (2 screws - 1/ea on top inner edge of front door panel then lift it up and out) Replaced both rollers, then used the parts kit shipping box to prop up the front of the drum while installing the belt and tensioner pully. Re-assembled in reverse order, works fine.

Loud banging noise from under dryer.
Watched repair video first to access problems and steps to do replacement for parts. Took more than :30 only because most of the time was spent cleaning. Amazing how much dirt and dust accumlates inside a closed unit. Even took the back off to clean and check electrical connections. Parts were exactly as shown and explained. Would absolutely use PartSelect again if needed.

The clothes dryer was making squeaky, screechy noises.
First off, I was somewhat misled by the website and ordered the wrong parts. I entered my model number and ordered the maintainance kit. The info said it was good for Whirlpool, Maytag and others. I also watched the video which is apparently the Whirlpool. So, the wrong parts arrived. The PartSelect peeple were very helpful in getting me the right parts and getting them delivered promptly. I then found the proper video, watched that and did the repair. Be aware that all models have subtle differences. Mine had two long screws in the bottom of the door frame not shown in the video. I also had a little trouble with the pulley spring. I removed the assembly and then got it all back together ok. Then I lost one of the door hinge screws. It evaporated. The replacement part was like $4 so I used one from the local HD and all is well.

the drier belt broke and the tensioner was worn
I took off top of drier completely making sure to photograph wiring diagram for timer, then removed front. Laying drier on it's back, I could then install new belt and tensioner without needing a second pair of hands. I tried using bungee cord but found it easier for me to lay drier on its back. I completely vacuumed all areas including back of drier. I found the retainer clips for front of drier to be bent, so I straightened them. I also installed two sheet metal screws in case one of the retainers failed.
