HE4270 Whirlpool Dryer - Instructions

Removed front of dryer, first the lower then the upper front covers. Removed front drum support, front blower housing cover. Removed belt, and then motor with housing and blower wheel attached. Broke wheel and cover off motor, placed motor in vise to remove threaded nut from motor drive shaft (nut was seized). Reinstalled motor and belt. Installed new housing and blower wheel. Reassembled dryer. Note if old blower wheel had come off repair would have taken half the time and been significantly easier to perform.

I would like to say first of all that I was amaized and pleased at how simple the ordering of this part was and while looking at the parts diagram on you website I noticed the door swing was optional and could be easily changed and the dryer came from the factory with a latch installed on both sides of the door. In our laundry room the dryer sits to the left of the washer and the door to the dryer opened to the right which has always been a slight inconvenience. . . So instead of changing out the broken part, I took the door and hinge off with my cordless screwdriver (6-8 screws) and turned it around and remounted it on the opposite side. . . Simple! I never took the new part out of the ups envelope. Now I have a spare so I taped the new part in the envelope to the back of the dryer in case I ever need it and now we have more convenience with the door swinging the correct way. Sweet deal! I took off the front panel removed the drum and took off the belt. I then installed new belt on drum then motor. Then installed the front panel.

I just followed the intructions from the video on the website. That made the replacement easy.

I did it just like the man in the video that was sent via e-mail by ParSelect,.

I was amazed just how easy it was. It would have been much quicker if I had a nut driver instead of a wrench. The video was great. Thank you!

Watched the video from part select and it was easy. I will always order from part select, I loved the delivery time!! I ordered two belts, one for my dryer and one for my sons. . . My belt arrived the next day and my sons only took two days. . . Now that is service. . Thank you part select

I took the dryer apart and used the video on the website that helped a lot on how to install the belt and then we put it back together and dryer works great.

i took the front off the dryer took belt loose took the tub out the plastic nut on the blower wheel striped out so i took the blower housing apart along with the motor got vise grips on blower wheel replaced motor blower wheel belt and belt tenchinor and spring cleaned all the lint put it back together works fine

I ordered the belt, which arrived really fast! Took dryer apart, removed old belt, replaced with new belt. The hardest part was remembering how to put the dryer back together! I think next time I will video the taking apart process so I can see how it goes back! This was the 2nd belt in about 18 years, the dryer works fine, and it sure is cheaper than a whole new dryer! Thanks for saving me money again! Really helps in these hard economic times!

I consulted the instructional video before starting to take the dryer apart. My model is older than the one used in the video but it was still very helpful. Putting the belt on was fairly easy; however, I didn't know I also needed a rear drum wheel as well so while the belt is installed, the dryer still doesn't tumble when anything is in it. Off balance without 2nd rear drum wheel.

The repair went better than expected. I watched the video of how to replace the dryer belt and although it wasn't exactly the same, just by watching the video I was able to find my way through the process.
