Belt broke
I followed the instructions from this website. Repair was simple with the video guide. Repair estimates were for $150 -$200, I spent less than $40 for the belt, new tension idler, and new rollers. It runs like new again. Parts arrived in 2 days! GREAT SERVICE! I'll be back and am telling my friends about your site!

The dryer was fully drying clothes.
Opened up the dryer and found that the belt broke. Came to this web-sight and was quickly directed to the correct part once viewing the schematics, and then watched the video. The day the parts arrived in the mail, I went to work and managed to get the drying working that night! Thank you for the parts, the video...made it very easy to complete. Sheral

When started, the motor would run but the drum would not turn.
After removing the bottom front panel using a putty knife to pry the upper left and right edges of the panel, I noticed that the long thin drum belt had broken. I went online to PartSelect, and using the Whirlpool model number, found the parts diagrams. Since the dryer is 20 years old, I decided to order the maintenance kit part# PS373087 which includes new idler wheels, retainer clips, and a tension pulley as well as the belt . I found a number of webpages that offer guidance in replacing the belt. Along with the instructions that came with the maintenance kit, I was able to do the repairs and have the dryer up and running in 30 minutes. Remember to remove the door springs before taking off the upper front panel. You only need to loosen the bottom screws on this panel. Leaving them in place helps to align and hold the panel when re-installing it.

My mothers dryer was making an strange/loud noise
After running the unit for a minute or so I removed the back of the dryer. Unable to locate the problem from this vantage point, I then removed the bottom kick plate. Using a small flash light, and turning the drum by hand I discovered that one of the support rollers had burned out the bearings. I went to this web site to see if I could still get parts for the unit. I found not only the part, but a full repair kit. Knowing all the parts would need to be replaced at some point, and that Mom could not afford a new unit I replaced everything. The parts did truly arrive in one day when they arrived I went back to your web site. I had seen instructional videos while looking for the repair parts. After watching the video I removed the dryer drum, removed the parts to be replaced (2 drum support rollers the belt tension roller, and belt) I replaced old with new cleaned entire unit reassembled and it is working like a champ thank you very much for all the parts, and info

Dryer drum stopped tumbling due to broken belt.
Remove the lint filter. Remove top without disturbing control wiring -- turn top on end but make sure it cannot fall. Unhook contacts on door switch. Remove screws hloding front panel and kick plate. Remove door hinge springs. Remove front panel and kick plate.Fish out old broken belt. Remove drum. Vacuum out all the lint. Reposition/replace pulley assembly and wheels. Place new belt around drum. Reinstall drum being careful to properly position the seal at rear. Prop up the drum with a suitable sized article to keep it in position temporarily - or have someone else hold it in position. Thread drive belt through pulley assembly per directions and put over drive hub. Manually turn drum to ensure proper belt and seal positioning. Put front panel back on. Turn drum while inspecting seal -- use putty knife to slip under seal if necessary to ensure its not folded under drum lip. Remove the prop holding up drum. dryer did not spin
I purchased the maintenance kit and followed the video on part select.com. Replacing the drum wheels, pully and belt was not difficult. I probably found enough coins in the dryer to pay for the maintenance kit. The only tricky part was getting the cap on the end of the axle. It requires a bit of force applied evenly.

Loud screeching noise coming from dryer
After removing the back & top of the dryer,I determined the noise was coming the idler pulley.I went online w/ model # & found Partselect.com.I ordered the dryer repair kit (at my door in 3 days) which included all the rollers, idler pulley, belt & hardware. It was an easy job to do even tho instructions were for top control panel model (mine is a whirlpool duet- front control) I did try using silicone lubricant on idler pulley, which worked to quiet dryer for a couple days so my wife could use it while I was waing for parts. Two thumbs up to Partselect.com,I will be purchasing all my appliance repair parts from them..I own all whirlpool stainless steel appliances that have been very reliable, but it's nice to know I have Partselect to fix problems as needed.

Loud squeaky that turned into a rattling noise
I watched your video that showed me how to remove the top then the face of the dryer. I then removed the drum and belt, after which I could then remove the support wheels and the belt tension wheel.I replaced the support wheels and tension wheel, the hardest part was removing the little plastic locking keepers that hold the support wheels in place. After that I was able to reinstall the drum with the new belt and reinstall the face and top of the dryer. My 15 year old dryer works great just like new. Thanks

Loud grinding noise while drying
I ordered the maintenance kit because it was recomended for my application and the symptoms my dryer was exhibiting. However this kit did not apply to my model. My model contained 4 drum rollers, only 2 came with the kit, and the idler pulley setup was completely different. I should have pulled the dryer apart first to compare pictures to the actual parts. No big deal, prompt refund after a quick phone call to Parts select. I was able to fix my idler pulley with a couple of new nylon washers and a new snap ring to hold it in place. Broken belt
I did as your online movie said to do it. It is a big help and you can see that the belt, rollers and idler pulley is not a difficult job and you save yourself at least $100. Toughest part of job is putting back the nylon triangle things that hold the rollers on without breaking them. That is why I used the needlenose pliers. The triangle things that hold on the rollers have little tabs on them and I just gently pulled them outward and the triangles went right on.That repair kit from Whirlpool(builder of my Kenmore dryer)was a real bargain and everything fit perfectly. Bottom line is don't be afraid to try this repair. You will most likely succede. Go out to diner with the money you saved. Good luck, Mike

Broken Dryer Belt
Ordered entire Maintenance kit - good call because it was the tensioner pulley that failed and cut the belt. To replace, had to raise the top (2 screws in lint screen slot)and pull the entire front off (2 screws - 1/ea on top inner edge of front door panel then lift it up and out) Replaced both rollers, then used the parts kit shipping box to prop up the front of the drum while installing the belt and tensioner pully. Re-assembled in reverse order, works fine.
