dryer would not come on, light still worked, timer still ran
I removed the back of the dryer, removed the single screw holding the fuse in place and checked it for continuity. It didn't work, so I placed an order and 3 days later I was back in business. the replacement took about five minutes.

catch was missing to close dryer door
The only thing I had to do was hammer the catch inside the square fitting and presto it was done. It took me less than 3 mins. I thought I might of needed instructions, but it was really simple. Even a guy can do it. (smile)

Dryer just quit
Took back panel off dryer, unscrewed old part, put on new one. Easy fix. Dryer works great again.

Dryer wouldn't heat but would blow air
The major issue was getting the dryer out and cleaning it all up. That's what took the time but it was worth it to clean out the lint in the ducts, etc.. Putting the thermal fuse was a snap thanks to the great feedback received when I got this web site and read the previous responses.

dryer door wouldn't catch, catch was broken
took the cstch reciever out, with my fingers, pushed the new one in, snap lock fit.......couldn't be better, like repairing a model T ford.......

No heat power was good
Unplug dryer from out let remove rear panel remove the two wires located on the fuse remove faulty fuse installed new fuse replace rear panel and exhaust tube

Dreyer overheated and stopped working midcycle
Very simple repair, and we're not handy at all. I cleaned out the dryer lint with a vacuum. Then we watched the partselect video on how to replace a thermal fuse. Husband used a nutdriver to take off the back panel. He took out the old fuse, put the new one in, crewed the panel back on. Voila!

The door whould not close enough for the dryer to work.
Got my parts very quickly.
Popped out the old door latch with a screw driver and pressed in the new one.
Very simple.

The dryer blew only cold air
I opened the front lower cover to get the schematics. Looked for the most probable part that was bad. Then traced wiring from the gas solenoid to find the thermal fuse.
I opened the back. Took the two wires off the thermal fuse and put my Ohm meter from terminal to terminal. As I got no reading, I ordered a new fuse. It took about 5 minutes to replace and button the dryer back up. This is the second time I have had to replace this fuse.

no heat in the dryer
after removing the back panel (5 screws) i replaced the heating element, (about 15 minutes, after vacuuming all of the lint and dog hair), replaced the panel, but still no heat. removed the back panel again, and replaced the thermal fuse. (2 screws, 5 min.) still no heat, so on to the thermostats. (there are 2, both in easy reach). i replaced the one in the heating element housing first, as this made sense. (it has a red stripe across it, so they can't be confused), replaced one connector, which the new part requires, buttoned it up, and presto!! the dryer works just as new! all told, i have less than 100.00 with all of the new parts. the longest part of the whole thing was cleaning all the lint and debris out first, which you absolutely must do

Dryer would not start. The thermal fuse had blown. I checked the conductivity with my electrical tool
The whirlpool Duet has just enough access that the thermal fuse can be changed by just removing the lower panel below the door. I removed the two 1/4 inch lower panel fasteners. The fuse is visible just behind the vent elbow in the front of the machine. I removed the single fastener, removed the two wires and swapped in the new fuse. Simple project, the video really helped. Did not take 15 minutes, start to finish.
