YE20JN2 Magic Chef Dryer - Instructions

Just snapped the new plastic latch into the hole (the hole was there because in trying to extract the old latch, it fell into the inside of the door). Took two seconds. Order to arrival of the part took only 22 hours!

Contrary to instructions that I found on the web, the element is not accessed through the back. Pop the top of the dryer up and the element is visible in the top of the back . Pretty easy job.

I had to replace the whole motor, Idler spring and idler Pulley Wheel. It went well but I wish I could have replaced just the berring and not the whole motor.

just replaced the part. I was happy how simple it is to order the parts from PartSelect, and be able to get the right measurement needed.plus how fast it came.

After I unplugged the unit, I used a flat screwdriver to pop the top open at the front, then tipped it back on the hinge. I then used a multi-meter to test resistance through any switch or safety device I could find. The thermal fuse was the hardest one to get to and was the only one that showed open, having no resistance. I had to remove the screw that holds the heating element in place and carefully slide the element out of the way. The fuse is held in place by a metal strip or retainer and it has to be lifted up and right as you remove it. Unplug the wires from the old fuse and put in the new one. Then reverse the order of dis-assembly, plug it in and away you go, as long as that is the only issue, which mine was.

There was no reair needed. We just needed to replace the filter. The new filter arrived in a very short time and now we are drying clothes without losing lint through the dryer vent.
Ordering was easy with just the model and filter number which was listed on the dryer door. I was even given a diagram on the computer screen as to where to locate all the parts numbers needed.
This was a very satisfying order experience!

I threw out the cracked lint screen and put the new one in it's place. I don't know why I waited so long to order the replacement part.

Replaced thermal fuse actually fixed the problem, but also replaced the heating element since you have to remove it to get to the fuse. Just remove the top and parts are accessed in the rear 3 screws.

replaced belt first didnt fix the noise so i replaced rear drum support roller kit and that fixed the noise this was a cheap fix cost me about 70.00 dollars verses a new dryer thank you your website was a big help

First, I replaced the male end which was just two screws and simple replacement of pushing the fastener into the door frame. When finished I noticed the female end was damaged as well. Glad the female part came as well. This required taken off the front trim around the door (four screws - 2 each side) and then the door. The installing of the female end was easy with a little push. The damaged female end was already hanging out so easy to grab and remove. Otherwise I would have had to remove the front panel. Note You need to put the door trim back on before reattaching the door.

Ordered part ( door latch ) flowed instructions easily fixed same.

i checked the power cord to be sure it was plugged in properly. i checked the thermal fuse in the front. i checked the thermostat fuse. i checked the heater element circuit and found infinite ohms. i checked kept the front cover up and watched that the heating element never came on. that confirmed my decision to buy the heating element. i installed a new one along with the thermostat that came in the kit. problem solved! my dryer is working again and everyone is happy again.

Turn off power. Move dryer away from wall and release the top by lifting up to release the two clips. Lay top against the wall. Remove the two screws, one in each corner, left and right inside the cabinet. Lift front panel up and out away from dryer. Place along right side of dryer. You may need to unlatch the wiring for the door switch. Reach inside the bottom of dryer and release the belt. Lift the dryer drum out along with the belt. Observe the two guide rollers that the drum rides on. Using a blade screw driver release the clips that hold the rollers onto the spindles. Clean up around each spindle. Install new rollers in reverse order and put all back together. The hardest part is reinstalling the belt. Put belt around the drum, around the motor pulley and then onto the tension roller. Replacing the lint filter was, of course, the easy part. The rest of the time was spent removing the front of the dryer and cleaning out all the lint that had escaped through the old broken filter. I completely took apart the lint traps inside the front, vacuumed everything out, and replaced the ductwork to the outside that was almost completely blocked with lint. Please take the time to inspect your dryer, and do this if necessary! I feel we prevented a house fire by getting to this in time - and I will be more vigilant in the future.
