Disassembled dryer, removed tumbler, replaced drum support rollers

Removed the back cover off the dryer removing 9 screws. Heating element was in lower right corner as described on your site. We removed the screws holding it on and using pliers disconnected the two wires. We had to use one piece from the old element so keep it until all the repairs are complete. We reconnected the two wires and replaced the cover. We were ready to go then. We are not good at applaince repairs but with the directions given at your site this was so easy. Thanks!! I am sure this saved us so much by doing it ourselves.

Simple repair. Removed back cover off of dryer about 10 screws with socket and ratchet. Removed 4 screws from element. Vacuumed it out. Then the same thing in reverse. Bing bang boom done. I think troubleshooting took the longest. What I finally did was plugged back in the dryer and turned it on and watched to see if the element started glowing. After that I verified that there was between 220 and 240 VAC across the contacts with a DMM ((NOTE) be very, very careful when and if attempting this.) That led me to replace the element after I figured there was no fuse blown.

i took a stab that it was the thermostat,but it wasn't.after finding out it was the coils i purchased them and lifted the top of the dryer and undid two screws in the upper front of the dryer and lifted the front off all while holding the tub in place.The coils are located in the very front left of the dryer,i took the holder bracket off,disconnected the wires and replaced the coils(they just sit on a rod)dryer works like new and thanks to the new thermostat also gets hotter,i'm guessing that was next.

Took off back of dryer, removed screws from
heater unit, replaced wire for wire on to new unit,
I could not replace all screws, no hole in new unit.
all work great.

Remove the plug from the wall outlet. Leaned the dryer over on its front. Removed the back panel screws and back panel. Disconnected the wires from the side of the heating element and removed the 2 screws holding the metal housing and pulled the heater housing away from the main housing. Removed the electrical component for use on the new element. Installed the component on the new housing and attached the housing to the main housing. Reconnected the wires, attached the back panel with screws. Set the dryer upright and plugged in the dryer cord into the wall outlet, turned on the dryer and the heat started flowing.

I remved the back of dryer, and heating element. I used sop air and blew all residual lint from dryer, I then installed new element, and reinstalled back. I then put dryer back in the house using a new vent hose, I found duct that was pu during house assembly was split so I replaced it as well. Dryer works like it did when we first bout it.

unplug 220 volt plug,,,remove back cover of dryer (8 screws) then remove heating element, two screws to remove the element, disconnect three wires , remove thermal sensor from old element and install on new element, replace, tighten two screws, reconnect three wires, and reinstall back cover of dryer eight screws plug in 220 volt plug, done....( did have to reconnect the vent)

Unplugged. I took 6 screws off back and cover came off. 2 screws on unit and it fell loose. 2 screws on thermostat taken off and unit was free, I took the extra 5 mins to vacumn off the 10 pounds of lint & dust out of the back of the dryer. Clipped the 2 wires on to the unit, replaced thermostat and put the unit in place with the 2 screws. Put the back on the dryer, replaced the 6 screws, plugged in and ready to roll. Tested with wet towel, works like new now!

I removed the old element then I removed the three wires and I had to remove the sensor from the old element which was not located on the new element. So do not be so quick to throw away your old element, due to it not being on the new one. Over all the installation took no more than 20 minutes. Thanks PartSelect.

Made sure the Dryer was unplugged. Removed the screws from the back of the Dryer. Removed the screws that held the heating element in place. (mine was located on the bottom right side)Disconnected the the wires leading to the heating element. The connectors holding the wires in place were very snug, I had to use needle nose pliers to remove them. Then I just simply reversed the process. The edges are very sharp also.

I first unplugged the dryer and pulled it away from the wall. I had to remove the vent tubing to gain access to the rear of the unit, then removed the screws on the back panel of the dryer. I took off the panel and noticed that lint that had gathered over the years around the back of the dryer. I vacuumed it clean then proceeded to problem solve. I noticed four easily identifiable areas, the thermal cut-off switch and thermostat located by the heating coil and the thermostat and fuse near the venting area. I first checked the fuse with a ohm meter, it was okay. I removed each component one at a time and created a bypass with a alligator clip wire. Plugged the dryer back in to determine if heat was produced while testing each area one at a time. I determined that heat was produced after bypassing the thermal cut-off switch. I then ordered the thermal cut-off switch kit (arrived within 3 days) and installed it within 20 minutes. The longest time spent was trouble shooting, the removal and installation was very easy. By the way, I did use the ohm meter to check the resistance across the thermostats as indicated in previous postings, but I found the results and technique to be more confusing. A bypass worked the best for me and much more reliable. The heat started immediately. I highly recommend downloading the schematics of your unit for part number and location identification.

I ordered the part(and a backup) and had it in two days. 5 days less than ordering from sears.

they sent the wrong part . when i got the right part i removed the two screws holding the element . took the Thermostat out . removed the plugs . put the new thermostat in plug in the plugs. screwed the element back in place . And now i need to replace the fuse located at the top of the element casing.
