Repair was fast and easy,just took off back panel,and removed heating element part. just a couple nuts, and unplug old unit, and plug in new one! Part recieved super fast and exact match!

Removed the back panel, took out two screws and replaced the element. Turned out the element was fine, the sensors were bad. Replaced them. Works like knew. I had the parts with in two days of ordering.

Unplugged. I took 6 screws off back and cover came off. 2 screws on unit and it fell loose. 2 screws on thermostat taken off and unit was free, I took the extra 5 mins to vacumn off the 10 pounds of lint & dust out of the back of the dryer. Clipped the 2 wires on to the unit, replaced thermostat and put the unit in place with the 2 screws. Put the back on the dryer, replaced the 6 screws, plugged in and ready to roll. Tested with wet towel, works like new now!

I could not replace all screws, no hole in new unit.

After only 4 years, my Maytag dryer stopped producing any heat although it would continue to run (drum would turn) but never auto-shut-off. After reading several entries on this site I narrowed the issue down to the 'Heating Element'. I've never done a dryer repair before but I took a shot and ordered the part. I unplugged the dryer first (of course) then removed the 8 or 10 1/4" screws from the back of the dryer which removed the entire back panel. I also had to disconnect the dryer vent. The heating element is on the bottom right, covered by a silver aluminum casing. I removed another 2 screws to take out that casing (and the element with it). Next was simply using a pair of pliers to remove one wire at a time from the old element and connecting it to the new element in the same place. There were only 3 or 4 total. I put everything back together, plugged it in a voila - I had a working dryer again. I just took my time and made sure everything was hooked up exactly as it was before. Removed the back cover off the dryer removing 9 screws. Heating element was in lower right corner as described on your site. We removed the screws holding it on and using pliers disconnected the two wires. We had to use one piece from the old element so keep it until all the repairs are complete. We reconnected the two wires and replaced the cover. We were ready to go then. We are not good at applaince repairs but with the directions given at your site this was so easy. Thanks!! I am sure this saved us so much by doing it ourselves.

Simple repair. Removed back cover off of dryer about 10 screws with socket and ratchet. Removed 4 screws from element. Vacuumed it out. Then the same thing in reverse. Bing bang boom done. I think troubleshooting took the longest. What I finally did was plugged back in the dryer and turned it on and watched to see if the element started glowing. After that I verified that there was between 220 and 240 VAC across the contacts with a DMM ((NOTE) be very, very careful when and if attempting this.) That led me to replace the element after I figured there was no fuse blown.

First I removed the back plate of the dryier, 6 bolts,. the heating elemant was held in place by 2 bolts then slides into the venting chamber, disconect the female conections lower old heating elemant, revers and repeat. i dont fix much but this was a snap, clean the machine while your in there

Made sure the Dryer was unplugged. Removed the screws from the back of the Dryer. Removed the screws that held the heating element in place. (mine was located on the bottom right side)Disconnected the the wires leading to the heating element. The connectors holding the wires in place were very snug, I had to use needle nose pliers to remove them. Then I just simply reversed the process. The edges are very sharp also.

unplug 220 volt plug,,,remove back cover of dryer (8 screws) then remove heating element, two screws to remove the element, disconnect three wires , remove thermal sensor from old element and install on new element, replace, tighten two screws, reconnect three wires, and reinstall back cover of dryer eight screws plug in 220 volt plug, done....( did have to reconnect the vent)

All I needed to do was remove the back panel and the element was clearly visable. I disconnected the wires keeping track of where they were connected, slid the element out of the long metal casing, then inserted the new element and re-connected the wires. That's it! Keep in mind that the dryer was disconnected for safety.

Remove the plug from the wall outlet. Leaned the dryer over on its front. Removed the back panel screws and back panel. Disconnected the wires from the side of the heating element and removed the 2 screws holding the metal housing and pulled the heater housing away from the main housing. Removed the electrical component for use on the new element. Installed the component on the new housing and attached the housing to the main housing. Reconnected the wires, attached the back panel with screws. Set the dryer upright and plugged in the dryer cord into the wall outlet, turned on the dryer and the heat started flowing.

I removed the old element then I removed the three wires and I had to remove the sensor from the old element which was not located on the new element. So do not be so quick to throw away your old element, due to it not being on the new one. Over all the installation took no more than 20 minutes. Thanks PartSelect.

I removed the back of the dryer with the socket set which included about 8-9 screws. I then removed the two wires going to the safety thermostat on the side of the heating element. I then used the socket set with an extension to remove the two screws (one on each side) of the heating element. You have to pull out the bottom first to get it out of the lip it sits in then pull down. Remove the thermostat by sliding off the terminal clamp then bending the metal mounting bracket so you can slide off the thermostat. Now do everything in reverse and you have a brand new heating element!
