11061652020 Kenmore Dryer - Instructions

We removed front cover, then removed the part in front of the element. Removed old element after taking out screw that held it in. Then placed new element in.

I am a retired applaince repairman not recommended for amature to repair this model.

No problem changing the element, but it worked for one load and then the thermostat blew! Bummer but that was another easy fix!

I followed the instruction for the video I got by email from partselect when I placed the order. 1. Removed front cover at the bottom of the machine. 2. Remove and take out the element base and pull out the element. 3. Install the new element. 4. Test. 5 Close front cover. 5 Run it

Removed the bottom front panel. The difficulty was in locating and testing the components because of access. Removing the heater required removing the heat shield and bracket and restraining screws, and then pulling out the heater with pliers which was stuck because of age. Dryer now works fine.

I ordered the part with the manf. # BUT upon installation I found that the new part was slightly different than the old part therefore not allowing me to screw the new part to the inside of the dryer - I was able to find longer screws that would work but took me an hour to figure out what the issue was and then resolve the matter

Dryer is on a pedestal. Opened drawer and removed two 1/4 inch screws on bottom panel of dryer front. Panel drops down and exposes the dryer exhaust where thermistor is located. Removed two spade connector wires and removed two 1/4 inch screws. Installed new thermistor and reversed procedure. For the moisture sensors I used a phillps screwdriver and stuck my head in the dryer and removed the lint screen assembly (3 screws). Removed the spade wire connectors and used a straight blade screw driver to remove the moisture sensor. Installed the new sensor and re-installed the lint screen assembly in the reverse of removal. All very easy - just took 30-45 minutes total.

I purchased a new heating element installed and stil had same problem. I order the 2 sensor (kit) located in same area and that took care of problem. I should have purcahsed all at same time like someone else told us in the website. Thanks parts select for the very fast delivery

Using Partselect to troubleshoot, I determined the heating element was shot. Upon receiving the part, I disassembled the unit, inserted the new element and reconnected everything. It couldn't have been simpler and saved me a ton of money.

I removed the front lower cover to the unit, located the heater and removed that. I installed the new unit and closed everything back up.

This appliance is 14 years old. I debated whether or not if worth to be repaired. I decided to repair it since a new one of comparable model is about $600. Firts, Disconnect the appliance. Remove the control panel side covers and unscrew the screws in the bottom, (one on each side) Flip the control panel up. Now you have access to the 3 screws that hold the drier top on place. Remove the 3 screws and slide the panel towards you and lift standing on the front of the appliance. Set the top aside. The fron bottom panel is attached with two clips on top and hinges on two bottom clips. With a potty knife or flat screw press in each top clips and pulls the cover towards you and lift that will removed the cover. Next, un screw the two screws in the bottom of the top front panel. Disconect the wires of the close door switch. I usially take a picture of the connections before discconnecting anything so I can use as reference when putting it all together again. Remove the two top screws. Remove the spring of the door (two, one on each side), remove the lint trap. Be careful if you open the door after you remove the springs and make sure whne you close the door is snaped in the close position. Remove the front top panel. Next, remove the blower cover (two screws on the front of it, Remove the blower ring ( two screws) Remove the belt by pushing down the spring loaded pulley and sliding the belp to the side. Grabing the tub by the belt carfully lift it and slide it out from the drier enclosure. Using a 1/2 in socket wrench place it in the center of the blower and hold the motor shaft at the other end by the pulley using adjustable wrench. Unscrew and remove the blower. Remove the back cover of the blower (4 screws) Discconnect the motor harness and unclip the two clips holding the motor to the mount bracket. Remove the motor and replace with the new one. Follow these instructions in revers order. It was very easy and my drier is working great now. I inspected the belt and pulleys and lubricared all moving components and of course cleaned and vacum all debry and lint. I hope these instructions help you and good luck :)

Opened up unit and followed tech directions on inside pocket to isolate the problem to the heating element. Pulled it out and sure enough it was broken in one place. Found the part on PartSelect and ordered it on Saturday, received it on Wednesday. Replaced the new heating element into the assembly, reinstalled the assembly and connected the wires. Works like new now!

The kit turned out to be missing a 7.40" 4" diameter vent that was needed so ending having to get my plumber to use what was there with a "cut and paste" job - took him over an hour. He did say that had the right piece been there, it would have been easy.

Pretty straight forward, only hard part was getting the housing for the heating element out. After that it was plug and play. Added benefit was cleaning out the inside and dryer vent while I was in there.

Took off front bottom panel reached in removed part that was very dusty. Put in new part. Cleaned out lint inside dryer. Works like a charm.
