I actually disassembled more than I needed to. If I had watched videos before, I could have saved some time. However disassembly and reassembly went quite well. I was thoroughly impressed by the speed at which I received the parts. After I had determined what I needed, I tried to call my local Maytag store to order the parts. Finding out that they were closed for the weekend (This was on a Friday Evening)., I went to an internet search and found PartSelect.com. I ordered the parts that evening, and they were on my front porch the following Tuesday before Noon!! I don't think my local supplier could have beat that service. Dryer is back together and running fine. Thanks to PartsSelect.com. Most of the Fix time was spent cleaning lint from around the inside of the cabinet, replacing the vent hose, etc. The actual replacement of parts probably took about 20 minutes.

I did a quick research online and found PartSelect to have the best price. I ordered my part on Monday 8/6 and to my tremendous surprise FedEx delivered it Tuesday 8/7!! I did not pay for overnight delivery. My son happened to come by that day and he took a small flathead screwdriver, pried the old one out and inserted the new part. Done in 5 minutes! PartSelect will be my supplier from now on.

tumbler belt broken
Replaced belt per instructions inclosed with part. Diagram on instructions was somewhat confusing. It took several attempts to get belt on right. Instructions would have been clearer if diagram showed a front view instead of from the back.

Dryer belt broke. Part No. PS2200550
First tried to install belt from the front of dryer. Very difficult since the installation drawings view was a rear view and the drum was difficult to work around. Had to take cover off back to attach belt to motor and idler. It took two hands to make the attachment. Otherwise follow the instruction and you should not have a problem.

Dryer was making a loud noise at startup & a constant ticking sound heard most loudly at the exhaust vent outside.
Sounded like something metallic was in the exhaust somewhere bouncing around in the air flow. Upon disassembly, found exhaust clear, but blower fan loose on its shaft. Decided I was hearing the blower slapping back and forth on the shaft. I normally order parts from Sears Direct but recently found your parts to be cheaper. I compared both this time and found your search process and parts list to be more precise. This dryer is 36 years old. Sears only had a generic parts list. PartSelect had the exact model schematic and list. And, the PartSelect price was about 15% cheaper. I ordered the part at 3 PM on a Tuesday (normal ground shipping), and the part was delivered via FedEx at 10 AM the next day, much to my surprise. Getting to the blower requires removing the large face plate that supports the front of the drum, but that is very easy to do and presented no problems with disassembly. Both the startup noise and the clicking are gone. 36 year old machine looks and runs like new again.

Tumbler was noisy
I took off the front panel of the dryer to access the tumbler drum . I took off the belt and removed the drum . I then replaced the two tumbler rollers . I also replaced the idler roller for the belt . I found it easier to put the belt on from the back of the dryer by taking off the small panel on the back to get access to the idler roller and motor pulley. I then installed the front panel . The dryer runs very smoothly now .

Clunking-knocking noise at start-up and when running
Replaced the Blower Wheel. It had been stripped by the axel due to the large amount of dirt, lint, etc that had accumulated in its housing and eventually restricted it from turning. The clip had come off as well.I had replaced the Drum Support roller kit previously. But, that did not resolve the noise issue.

Dryer would not heat
Found a video online and followed the directions. I liked a tip that was given in the video and that was to take a digital picture of the wiring before disconnecting it. Then I referred back to it when I put it back together and it was easy.

Loud thumping noise
I diagnosed the problem with the dryer as being a bad blower wheel. Ordered the wheel and replaced easily. Removed front of dryer, removed front drum support and ductwork, removed wiring shield for heating element and then had full access to the blower wheel to replace. Used spring ring pliers to remove spring ring, then removed retaining clip for blower wheel. Wheel slipped off shaft easily and I was able to reverse process to replace the wheel.

Dryer would squeel loudly on start-up in any mode
I "Youtube'd" the model number and "make" and followed the simple instructions. This job was very easy. The symptoms pointed to either the drum rollers or the idler wheel so I replaced both while I was in there. I was able to do all with one "four-way" screwdriver, and didn't have to move the dryer out. I used snap ring pliers to remove the drum roller snap rings, but that could of been done with fine needle nosed pliers. While I had the drum out I used my shop vac to give the inside a good cleaning. I put it all back together and plugged it in and we couldn't believe how quiet it was.
