GMMP280ED6WS General Electric Dryer - Instructions

All the stores had either a smaller watt or a larger watt and the book suggested always using the correct watt. I was glad to find it on this sight and it was delivered very quickly.

I noticed that some clothes were coming out of the dryer looking like they had been chewed on. The next day something actually caught on something inside the dryer near the door. There was a broken piece of plastic. I wrote the dryer model number down and came to this website. I easily determined it was the drum bearing from the pictures provided by this website. The part came 5 days later. I think it would have been sooner, but I ordered on a Friday before a 3 day weekend (Memorial Weekend). I did not order the slides recommended to be ordered with it because my dryer was not making noise. When I replaced the drum bearing, one slide was worn completely through and the others were fine. The one worn through was right near where the plastic on the drum bearing was broken. I ordered a green slide to replace the one that was worn through.

Replacing drum bearing required the removal of 4 screws total. 2 inside dryer doorway, these two were facing towards the ceiling. After removing those two the dryer top popped off easily and did not require the removal of the control panel at the back of the dryer. The other two screws were inside and were small screws which held the front dryer panel onto the sides. After these were removed I pulled the front panel away enough to get to the drum bearing. Easy Peasy!

I just snapped the door handle on the dryer in less than a minute. I am completely satified. Did I mention I received my part in one day. I ordered online before 3pm and received it the next day before 11am. Very impressed. Thanks PartSelect!!!

This repair was SO easy, it took less than 5 minutes. All I had to do is snap the door handle into the slots and it was finished. "Piece of Cake"!

The door to the clothes dryer would not open without the handle. To be able to use the dryer I secured the handle in place with packaging tape. The Part Select website made it extremely easy to identify the replacement part using just the model number. I placed the order on Thursday afternoon and received the part on Friday morning. I had to twist the broken handle to remove it from the door. Then I was able to snap in the replacement handle back in place with little force. Thanks to Part Select my problem was easily rectified.

The pkg. came, I opened it and snapped the handle into the dryer hole & Wham -done!
No tools, no sweat! Could not believe how fast the door handle arrived-GREAT job!!! Will use this company again and tell my friends.

First I removed the two screws on the underneath side in the door at the top and removed the old drum bearing and installed new one with the 2 new plastic slide bearing. It took a while to diagnose the problem. I finally figured out it was the door switch by pushing it with my finger with the dryer door open and starting the dryer. It would run like that, but the switch was not being pressed in enough by the door. I ordered the switch and I should have been able to replace in about 15 min. But the old switch broke while I was removing it and it fell back inside the unit. So I had to remove the top and the front panel to access the door switch. That's why it took so long. If that had not happened it would have been a much simpler repair.
