took off top of dryer, took out 2 screws so front of dryer could be removed, replaced bearing,slides and felt seal

Initially purchased just the plastic slides, but when I opened the dryer I found the top drum bearing was smashed and the plastic was basically gone in a whole section, so I then ended up ordering the bearing as well. If you hear the loud squeaking, just buy the top drum bearing and the 4 slides (two white and two dark green). It is an easy repair and the squeaking sound is gone.

Took the top of the dryer off by removing two philips screws in front. Removed two screws holding the front of the dryer on. Pulled the front out enough to reveal the worn drum slides. Replaced them. Reassembled.

i first popped off the top of te dryer after removing the two screws in frotn when you open the door. I then removed the two screws holding the front together. after tilting the front out i was able to place the slides in without having to pull of the front entirely.

pulled off the old knob and replaced it with the new knob.

I ordered and replaced the front and rear bearings, including the slides that go on the front bearing. Most of this was un-necessary; replacing the slides would have been sufficient, and much easier to do. Two of the old slides were worn completely away.

The knob to start my dryer broke about a year age. I was using pliers to start the dryer. I was sure I would never find a replacement part and it was just a matter of time before the plier trick would break the start knob. I decided to look on line for a replacement knob sure that I wouldn't find one. Clicked on PartSelect, enter General Electric dryer and a bit more simple info and there was the part I needed. We removed the top of the the dryer and then removed the front part. Then put the traps in place, put the other parts of the dryer back on, and turned the dryer back on. Just as simple as that. No extra fees.

The website is so user friendly, I ordered additional parts I did not need at the moment.

Once I found your web page things went very smoothly and quickly. It was exactly what I wanted and it even came a day early. Obviously, no problem with the repair just put the knob in place.

I called the repair man for an evaluation. Upon examing the dryer, he termined that the dryer was broken from the inside. So, he advised me to order another timer knob.

Yes, we should have done this a long time ago and put off replacing the starter knob and heat adjuster knob. By the time they no longer worked, we called in an expensive repairman. When we realized what the problem was, we thanked him, paid him lots of money and did what we should have all along - replaced the knobs throug partsselect.com instead of using the repairman for another $150.00.

We received the knobs within 3 days (paying for medium fast delivery was worth it) and simply pulled the old problem knobs off and put the other ones on. Simple, no brainer work.

Save yourself expensive repairs and replace those knobs when they start going. Also, when you test the machine, make sure you turn the setting to a time (stupid mistake that most of us do) to make sure that the knobs work properly.

First I removed the 2 screws that hold the lid down. Then I pulled the lid off. Then I removed the 2 screws that hold the front of the dryer in place. Then I lifted the drum a little and pulled the front cabinet out a little so I could see the drum slides. I removed the bad drum slides and installed the new ones. I then put everything back together and turned on the dryer. The squeeky noise was gone.
