Broken Timer Knob
The fact that the knob on a 3yr old dryer broke was harder to deal with than the repair. It was lift the old knob off (it was very loose) and snugly slide the new knob on. I can get back to reading my book and my wife thinks I'm a hero win-win!

We removed the top of the the dryer and then removed the front part. Then put the traps in place, put the other parts of the dryer back on, and turned the dryer back on. Just as simple as that. No extra fees.

Loud squeaking sound from dryer drum.
Initially purchased just the plastic slides, but when I opened the dryer I found the top drum bearing was smashed and the plastic was basically gone in a whole section, so I then ended up ordering the bearing as well. If you hear the loud squeaking, just buy the top drum bearing and the 4 slides (two white and two dark green). It is an easy repair and the squeaking sound is gone.

Dryer drum squealling
I followed the directions from the previous post. It was much easier than described. I got the part, removed 4 screws, removed the top, pulled the front and replaced the part. It was all together again in 15 minutes. Dryer sounds great again! I'm so glad I didn't call a repair man!

Drum squeaked and occassionally would not turn, even though the motor ran.
I ordered and replaced the front and rear bearings, including the slides that go on the front bearing. Most of this was un-necessary; replacing the slides would have been sufficient, and much easier to do. Two of the old slides were worn completely away.

Dryer squeaks and squeals while running
Took the top of the dryer off by removing two philips screws in front. Removed two screws holding the front of the dryer on. Pulled the front out enough to reveal the worn drum slides. Replaced them. Reassembled.

Dryer stopped running and wonldn't start.
I ordered to timer knob. Its was delievered in two days. When I received it, My bother and I looked at it expecting more than what we received, We said to each other this isn't going to work. I told my bother to go on and try it anyway. He took the old timer knob off and then removed a clamp at the base of the timer knob fitting. He then placed the timer knob back of the fitting. Turned the dryer on and it started right up. We were both shocked that it ran and that it was so easy to fix. Thank you PartSelect. Great customer service. I have already ordered a part for his refrigerator! Can't wait till we get the part. I'm sure its going to work just fine.

The dryer time setting knob.
My husband snapped the new know easily into place.

I was tired of the process after having the know break three times in less than three years which makes me think there is a design flaw.

Dryer would not start.
Checked all thermostats, they were good. Circuit was getting 220 vac. Eventually found fuse in the back near the heating element, same was bad. By-passed same, and when we did, the timer Popped & arched !. Not sure why. Motor protectrion fuse found to be good. Heating elements good. Fuse was the only bad part found, never figured out what caused it to blow. Appliance was taken away after purchase of new one. Problem not found or resolved by self diagnostics. Originally the exhaust duct was somewhat clogged with lint, but not severely.
