ordered replacement. received in two days and voila! Fixed!

Before I bought the new knobs, I put nail glue inside each knob to strengthen the knobs. It lasted for about 6 mos and I would have to do it again. Needless to say I got tired of the broken knobs, so I bought new ones.

The knob to start my dryer broke about a year age. I was using pliers to start the dryer. I was sure I would never find a replacement part and it was just a matter of time before the plier trick would break the start knob. I decided to look on line for a replacement knob sure that I wouldn't find one. Clicked on PartSelect, enter General Electric dryer and a bit more simple info and there was the part I needed. I love the Partsselect.com youtube videos. The man in those videos rocks!!! I did the repair of my rear drum bearing kit exactly as he showed me in his video and it was perfect. I have spread the word on facebook and around work about Partselect.com and friends and coworkers are already checking it out. Hey, everyone loves a good thing. I suggest that you do not be afraid, you CAN do it. Tear that baby apart and save yourself some money.

First I removed the drum as described in many other comments. Took me about 10 minutes, pretty easy. Replaced the part which was easy and could be figured out just by seeing how you took the original part off. The hard part was aligning the drum, drum washer, and metal plate back into the drum bearing. I tried over 2 hours to do this and because it rotates and it's almost impossible to line up all the holes, I decided to do it another way.

I took apart the drum bearing from the back panel and then outside of the dryer walls I aligned the drum, washer, metal plate and drum bearing. I screwed them all in together and then, went into the frame and reconnected it at the back w/ the horseshoe looking washer. It worked perfectly and I was frustrated that it took me so long to figure out a different way to do it.

I have to say because of the installation it was a little tough than anticipated but was very happy with the end result (no squeaking) and money savings. Definitely worth giving it a try if you're patient.

The knob had broken off a few months ago. I didn't think to look for one on the internet. I finally googled the brand name and part number and your company came up. It had the picture of the part which I ordered immediately. It came in the mail really quickly. I was so excited when I received the knob. I took it out of the package and slipped it over the stem in less than a minute. It went on perfectly. Now I no longer need to use pliers to turn on the dryer. It looks great and I am no longer inconvenienced. I love the new knob and would do business with this company again.

I thought that the timer was broken but when I pulled the knob off, there was a slight crack in it so before I contemplated calling a service person, I ordered a new knob. Now it works just fine and turns with the usual 'clicks' that I wasn't hearing since it broke. For the $20 ( including S&H ) It was worth the try. Thanks for the website, very easy to use!

5. replaced drum bearings
6. reassembled everything in the same order I took it off.

Be sure to mark any wires you may disconnect to ensure you connect them back correctly.
Was a bit frustrating at times, but made it through and there is no more squeek.

Took it out of the package. Slid in it in place, took less than two minutes.

There is a plastic female closure part in the dryer door that wouldn't close tightly around the metal male closure on the dryer. I popped out the plastic square with a screwdriver, popped the new plastic closure in with my thumb. Works great. I never even installed the new metal portion of the latch.

Before removing the old part,took photo with my phone camera to document the color wires hook up. Screwed in the new part and hooked up the color coded wires using the photo as reference. I was surprised how easy it was. Thanks. Partselect gave me fast shipping, cheap price and great customer service.

I suspected and removed the timer to check it and found the timer knob had a crack in it and realized I did not know where it was pointing to. Checking the selector knob also showed a crack which prevented the dryer from starting.

Watched the video on YouTube and everything went great!

I'm not experience to repair anything so I put the laptop on top of the washer and watch the video and it was easy
