Dryer would shut off on heat dry after a couple of minutes. I could feel the heat working. It would only continue to run on fluff/no heat
Pulled the drum an found spade clip burned on wire. Hi limit Thermostat crumbled/ broke while pulling spade clip so I trimmed back the wire, cleaned the spade clip and soldered the wire back on. Isolated the other thermostats in the system and tested for resistance. Reassembled dryer.

Timer would not regulate dryer time
I was able to take off the front top panel (4 star screws) folded top panel towards me. Marked all the wires to make it easier to remember where they go on new timer. (could have just removed and replaced on new timer as wires were long enough. Pushed old timer down onto panel with screw driver to loosen (this was hardest part) once I was able to loosen and remove the new timer was easy to replace and tighten. Put wires in place. Folding top panel back into place. Closed and tightened screws. Project done!!! Saved about $200.00... GO ME!!!

Squeaking and black marks on clothes.
Unplug the dryer. Remove top panel (remove two screws on the upper inside edge of the dryer door). Lift the front panel from front (tabs and slots at the back) and lift off. Remove the front panel (remove a screw from each side - top/front). Front panel sits on two feet at the bottom, tilt it forward from the top and lift it up (careful not to damage the electrical connection at the bottom left side). I found the dryer had another damaged part (plastic guide that the Slide WH and the Drum Slides connected to was badly worn). After ordering the additional part I attached the slides (white and gray) to the guide. Set the front panel back on the two feet and tilt it back into place (you'll need to slightly raise the drum back into position - easy). Replace the two screws that connect the front panel. Replace the top cover. The whole repair took less than 1/2 an hour including the time it took to vacuum out the dust. Total cost, about $35!

Broken Pulley Idler and Timer.
Hello,

I just want to start by saying thanks to Partselect for having such a great website. The site is easy to navigate and with the explosion views allowed 'us novice' to select the right part the first time.

With post from previous DIY'ers, help make my repair very easy and simple. I had to replace the timer and the Pulley Idler. I first removed the top, leaving the timer panel connected by wires. I then removed the belt from the drum. That step was easy since the Pulley Idler was broke. I simply slid off the drum with ease. Once the belt was off I disassembled the front panel of the dryer. With the front panel off, I used a 3ft clamp to hold the drum in place while I unscrewed the three drum screws inside. I then pulled the drum out and set to the side. The tension pulley was simple to remove and reinstall. I reversed the steps above until the I got to the installation of the timer panel. With the new timer I put them side by side. I pulled one wire at a time and replaced to the new timer. Once all wires have been transferred, I then pulled the knob off the front. I used a small and medium flat head screwdriver, the small one to pry up the keeper flap and the medium to hold it. I was able to turn the timer and release it with ease. I then inserted the new timer and replaced the knob. I finished reinstalling the dryer and tested. Works great! This all took approximately an hour.

Cound not set timer, knob was broken.
Silmply replaced the knob. This is the second knob I have replaced on this dryer. This time I bought two for when it happens again. Not sure if it is too much rension in the timer or too little strength in the knob, but is a design problem.

Broken Timer Knob
The fact that the knob on a 3yr old dryer broke was harder to deal with than the repair. It was lift the old knob off (it was very loose) and snugly slide the new knob on. I can get back to reading my book and my wife thinks I'm a hero win-win!
