Appeared to be a failed belt
Appearances can be deceiving.....while dis-assembly was a piece of cake; the problem turned out to be failed welds on the dryer drum. REMEMBER this before you make a parts decision. Examine the problem.FIRST! (this comeing from a guy who used to Manage an appliance repair shop WAY back in the day....DUH!)Solution?....new dryer; repair cost too high. None the less...at least I have a spare belt !!!

Broken start switch
I watched the video that I saw posted on youtube. My dryer did not have a panel on the back to remove, so the part was very easily accessible. I simply took the old switch off and replaced it with the new one. The most impressive part was receiving the part so quickly. That was awesome! It saved me a trip to the laundromat. I really did not expect to receive it so quickly. Thank you!!!

Replace heating coil
The heating coil wire broke and a section of it has become uncoiled. I had to remove the drum to access the heating coil. Disassembly was relatively easy. I took a good amount of time removing the excess lint all inside the dryer. The difficult part was re-installing the sheet metal screws as a few didn't want to cooperate due to burrs or slight misalignment.

Dryer Would Not Heat
I researched possible causes on line and watched a PartsSelect video on YouTube on how to test. I ended up misreading test results and ordered the High Limit Thermostat but subsequently realized problem was the Terminal Block. No problem, PartsSelect took back the Thermostat (I hadn't installed it) and shipped me the Terminal Block. My dryer was back up and running in less than 7 days from initial analysis to installation of Terminal Block. Instructions that came in confirmation email for installation were perfect and easy to follow. Total cost with new power cord from Home Depot was less than $50 vs a quoted service call of $175+ parts from local electrician.

start knob broke off
I removed all but one screw on the back of the control panel and slid the panel down and to the left. Then I jiggled and turned the start switch box out of the slot, unplugged it, plugged in the new switch, and put it back in the slot turning slightly to tighten into place. I replaced the screws and the repair was complete!

Knobs to turn dryer on & choose setting broke, & the dryer wouldn't work at all.
Simply pulled the old knobs off & put the new ones on.

It is disappointing that the knobs cracked at all. I guess all the repair guys who've come out since our kitchen remodel are right - nothing lasts anymore & expect a repair within 5 yrs.

I ordered on a Monday & the knobs were delivered the next day, even though I chose only standard shipping. I was very, very pleased with PartSelect.com.

dryer was not drying , and was shutting off
well guys replacing the knob was no big deal, but i initially thought that the timer was bad. i jumped the gun and ordered the timer on a wednesday and discovered on thursday upon further investagation that the back of the dial shaft was cracked creating the whole problem, so i ordered that and everything is fine once installed (& the timer is on the way back). my advice is check thoroughly and order once, you get less laughter from your wife on this one. thanx mcsgt(robert)
