lint filter did not fit "squarely" into its place
replaced old filter, only to find that the new one had the same issue. After closer examination, I determined the filter guide that screws into place, which I had removed earlier to clean lint out, did not hold the lint casing correctly. I removed and reinstalled the piece that has the metal moisture sensors, and replaced it, ensure both screws held the lint casing as it should. Now I have two lint filters that fit perfectly! So, if you ever remove the piece wtih the metal sensors, make sure that the lint casing is screwed in correctly when replacing.

Dryer rotary plastic knob broke
This was really easy, the part is not identical to the one the dryer comes with however; it works just fine. I called the other places for repair knobs and they told me they had to have the serial number to get my part and the cost would be $20-$25 for the part plus shipping. Here it cost a whooping $13 with shipping included. I will never call those other places again!!

needed to stack dryer on top of washer
The directions provided were excellent. I just had to remove the washer top, two brackets on the front of the washer and replace with the provided brackets, and finally put back brackets back on the washer. Getting help, I than placed the dryer on top of the washer lining up the brackets and screwed the front brackets together.

tabs on the door handle broke from use
got new door handle, inserted and clipped into place, no tools needed, time to repair 5 secs, 1 sec to insert handle, 4 secs to open and shut door numerous times to make sure it was in right. Washer and dryer are over 10 years old, but I like them because you can repair them if something breaks, with the newer models don't know if you can do this.

Every 2-3 years the knob that turns on my dryer breaks.
The best part of using this site the first time was that they had pictures and measurements of the part....it made me sure I wasnt ordering something that wouldn't work.
Its not a tough repair job, its broken a few times in the 8-9 years I've had it. I just order the part, it arrives promptly, I put in on...job done! I would use this site again anytime I need a part to something and have recommended it many times to friends and family.
To summarize.....it's just great when a process works so well and is so easy.

drum glides worn out making thumping noise.
watched video on replacing rear bearing.although rear bearing was not the part(s) i needed to replace, video instructed disassembly procedures to get to the drum glides. this was a very simple and easy to follow video. repair was a breezeand took roughly 25 minutes. the most time consuming segement of repair was vaccuuming out lint, that was 15 minutes. In future, as a preventative, i plan to remove front of machine to clean annually.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Start Switch stopped working
First I unplugged the dryer. I removed the 3 knobs on the front control panel as well as the 6 screws on the back. The start switch easily removes by turning it 45 degrees and pulls out. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the two connectors loose from the old switch. (They are color coded wires, 1 brown and 1 gray. The switch is marked with the numbers 1 and 2 on the connectors so remember which one goes where) Then i hooked up the new switch in reverse order and was back in business in about 5 minutes.

Zipper was cought between brum and cabnet
Disconect power, Removed top and front of dryer.
The broken zipper was easly removed at this point. The plastic glides easly snap out and in. The felt took some more time to scrape off and clean the old glue. Glue the new felt into place and replace front and top. The parts were shiped promptly and the dryer was out of service for only three days.

I broke the turn start switch and had to replace it
This was a Sears Dryer, also know as Kenmore, This dryer can be stacked or side by side. In this case it was stacked. There are no directions on how to replace this part. For this model made in 2005 the lid of the dryer is held in front by two clips. You open the lid simply by prying the two front corners up with a flat head screw driver. The front of the top lid pops right up. You may have to remove the mounts in back if you cant lift the dryer lid enough to be able to get your hands in. UNPLUG THE DRYER I got a nasty shock. There are two wires on the switch, remember how they go and where they are, that's important. Turn the switch (from the front or back) so that it pops out. Remove and replace the wires put it back in (from behind/top) and twist a 1/4 turn into place. Plug, test and simply push the cover back down onto the clips. Done.

Dryer "start" know broke off
I bought part PS419092 (Rotary Knob) for my Firgidaire FDGB23RGS2 Dryer.
This knob I bought (PS419092) is much cheaper than the parts recommeneded for Frigidaire dryers ( knobs: PS417309 and PS416982 ). It is $6 instead of $18.
The only difference is that it (PS419092) is white instead of cream/off-white.
Putting the knob on was super easy and I'm glad I saved money by buying the less expensive part.
