Both selector knobs broke within days of each other
The repair was simply removing metal guards from old knobs and placing the new ones on the dials.

What's remarkable, I ordered standard shipping and they were here the NEXT DAY~!

Great customer service.

Broken start switch
I watched the video that I saw posted on youtube. My dryer did not have a panel on the back to remove, so the part was very easily accessible. I simply took the old switch off and replaced it with the new one. The most impressive part was receiving the part so quickly. That was awesome! It saved me a trip to the laundromat. I really did not expect to receive it so quickly. Thank you!!!

start knob broke off
I removed all but one screw on the back of the control panel and slid the panel down and to the left. Then I jiggled and turned the start switch box out of the slot, unplugged it, plugged in the new switch, and put it back in the slot turning slightly to tighten into place. I replaced the screws and the repair was complete!

Dryer wouldn't heat
Removed obvious screws to the vent etc. Then had a little trouble getting the cabinet open. My only problem was getting the front top panel off. A clip about 2" from either side at the top needs to be pushed in with a flat head screwdriver to release the top. Other than that the task was pretty straight forward. Two sets of wires to the heater itself. Used pliers to help pull them loose.

Dryer was squeking
I watched the video on the web site after selecting the part and it was pretty simple. Everything worked just like the video showed. Probably could have been done faster but I took time to vacuum the inside of the dryer out. Really liked the video.

Start knob broken off
I popped the dryer lid open by pressing on two latches with the flat putty knife. I found that I really needed another set of hands, so my son helped me with this project. I had to disassemble the front panel by unscrewing 2 screws on the sides and also 2 screws around the dryer timer knob, after removing all knobs. Also, I had to pry apart 2 of the front pieces because they are clipped together with plastic latches. I unhooked two wires from the starter switch and then gave a half twist to remove it from the opening. Once that was removed, I just replaced it with the new part and put everything back together in reverse order. I did test the dryer before putting back together, but make sure you unplug it again while assembling. I forgot and two wires touched and there was a big spark and popping noise. Fortunately, nothing was blown out and no one was shocked I had absolutely no experience with anything like this but found this website to be a huge help. I figured everything out just be looking at the diagrams and some other notes on-line. Thanks!

Broken Dryer Drum Belt
Dismantled the dryer to determine that the belt was broken. Called a local supply outlet to request a belt. They said they couldn't find one. Did an online search and found Part Select. Called with the model number and within three days the part was delivered. Replaced the belt and the dryer was working within an hour. Hardest part was getting the dryer out of the laundry room. I would certainly call PartSelect again if I needed a part.

Dryer heated up but drum would not turn
The dryer was heating but the drum would not turn. We opened it up to see what the problem was. As soon as we opened it, we saw the belt was broken. I ordered a new one and after two trips to the laundromat I was ready to get the dryer fixed. That weekend we tackled the job. First I did a Google Search on Westinghouse dryer repair, found several ....one with a video:-) Punched in our model number and they went through the whole procedure....while it took them only 10 minutes, we took a little longer. But they had great ideas how to hold the drum while repairing, etc. Being recently laid-off this was a fantastic find. I have no idea how much a service call would be on the dryer nor could I afford a new one at this time.... Great old American Know How got it done.

Old Knob Broke Off.
Opened the package. Took out the new knob. Popped it on the old metal prong. Don't have to use the old pliers to start the dryer anymore. One of the little things around the house that was broken, just took a minute to order, a day or so to receive, a second to install and it was one more thing off my to do list. That was about the quickest and cheapest repair we made at our house this year.
