FGR231CAS2 Frigidaire Dryer - Instructions

Unplug from electric outlet. Use putty knife to press on two brackets holding the top cover. Raise top cover. Unscrew two screws holding the front panel. Raise front panel up and move to the right (careful with the wires). Disconnect wires from coils. Unscrew two screws holding a small bracket holding the coils. Replace coils and reassemble everything. (HINT: make sure you drum is empty. Mine contained dump clothes, and it turned out front panel actually provides support to the drum, so mine was hanging there with some weight in it - probably not good).

Romoved front from dryer . Then loosened tub , slid belt on , reached in back and put belt on pulley , turned tub till belt went into place and reassembled dryer all with the help of a 3 year old and an8 year old,so in my oppinion it was one of the easiest fixes i've ever done!

The conversion kit had everything needed, However the instructions were lacking in description on how to assemble everything, this kit includes the new style burner, igniter, igniter mount, air shutter and propane orifices. A detailed picture would help.
The hot surface igniter was broken in the box, luckily the dryer had the same style igniter already installed. I just had to reposition the original igniter to light properly. No special tools needed. Read the instructions before installing.

After changing the drum support bearing, and the front felt ring, the noise continued. It turned out to be the tensioner pully. The harmonic vibration travels throughout the dryer box like an instrument so you can't tell where the sound is comming from. Before you do anything, spray a little wd40 between the bushing and the shaft on the belt tenioner pully. If the squeel goes away, you have found your smoking gun.

When the part was delivered I opened the box and unwrapped the knob from the protective paper. I walked down the whole length of my hallway to the laundry room and carefully approached the dryer. Stealthily I reached across the top of the dryer and slid the knob onto the metal rod. Voila! I am now a certified Frigidaire Clothesdryer Repairperson!!

Ordered part from partselect.com. Part was back ordered; however they were very proactive in communicating status updates! When it arrived it was simply a matter of removing door using a philips screwdriver, installing the new hinge and presto - job complete! Kudos to partselect.com ??

Took out of package. Used screw driver to pop off old broken handle.
Installed new part in a minute or two. Nothing to it. Was very pleased to get the part and so easy to install.

Sooooo Easy. A no brainer. Just line up the knob and push it back on!

Pushed the new timer knob on the dryer. No tools were necessary.

I know that the knobs on the Gibson dryers break as they are plastic and the back cracks so it won't turn. I have had to get several new ones over the years. I went to Google put in Gibson dryer knob and found it, I had the model number so that helped. I had the part within 24 hrs, awesome service from PartSelect.

I watched the video on the repair and followed it. Super easy. Repair only took 30 mins. Please note there are 2 glides. Make sure to order 2.

Removed back panel. Popped off top of dryer, then removed front of dryer. Slid belt onto tumbler, put front cover back on, put top back on and adjusted belt frombottom panel cover.

I cut off the four that didn't line up - I suppose since this was a gasket that fit several makes, I should expect this type of problem.

Slid on new knob. The turn around time on receiving the part was amazing. We were back in business within 2 days.

I just used a putty knife to remove the broken one. It just popped right off.
The new one just popped into place.

I want to say that the girl / lady that answer the phone was extremely helpful and very professional,.
