I followed the posted directions from others, and it was a breeze. They were really helpful. I would just add the step of keeping the drum in place with a block of wood underneath before removing the front. Slip the belt around the drum, reattach the front , and then finish positioning and tensioning the belt once the block is out of the way .

well, the hardest part is getting this thing apart - you have to take out the lint trap and remove the two screws from the top. Then I was trying to lift the top off - it's held in place by clips so you have to gently but firmly lift it off from the front end and let it open while still semi attached at the back (like a chest). Detach the electrical wires - they are just clipped in place. Then remove the screws (one on each side) that attach the front panel, and (and this is the hardest part if you don't know how it's attached). You have to SLIGHTLY LIFT the front straight up and then pull it away towards you. I just pulled it off, breaking the little attachers, which I subsequently had to weld back on with a welding compound and leave it overnight to set. the next day was pretty easy though...

The spinning drum is pretty easy to get out and you set it aside. Then I saw the belt pulley sitting there on the bottom of the dryer out of place -- fortunately with the belt there came instructions on how to instal it - READ THOSE INSTRUCTIONS - after that it's cake - put the belt around the center of the drum and feed it through the other parts underneath (this is easier if you tilt the dryer back a bit to get at it better. And you must pull back on that pulley after you have put it in place again - clips into the bottom of the dryer - it's supposed to have a lot of tension on it. Put it all back together and voila!

Disconnect the power and gas supply so that you can slide dryer out and into an accessable area to work comfortablely. Removed top and front of dryer. When disconnecting numerous wires from the top controls, draw a simple color coded diagram for reconnection before you disconnect those wires. After removing the top and front, take out the drum and clean all the lint, money etc. out of the normally nonexcessable area of dryer. Place new belt on as you replace the drum. This takes two people; one to hold the drum in position and one to carefully work the new belt into place. Rotating the drum by hand will assist in the placement of the new belt on the drum. After reassembling the newly cleaned dryer it was a pleasure to try it and find a dryer that worked better than during its pre-repair use and it saved us the price of a repair call or a new dryer.

first, i read all the comments on this web site as well as other web site. sooner i confirm the problem is the drum belt, i order the parts.
my kemore model front panel is one piece. so i have to lay down the dryer and open the front panel on the top. The instruction sheet sent with the belt is very good, so it does not take too much time to replace the belt, the challenge task is to reconnect the front panel to the side panel. I spend too much time trying different way to use the fastner hook to connect panels without realizing that the hook is broken. stupid me. i later have to use the wire to connect the front panel to side panel. overall, i am very happy i fix the dryer.

With no experience repairing appliances, I did figure it out that the drive belt was broken since the motor was running and the drum did not turn.

What to do? Start looking for fasteners! I knew I had to get to the drum, but there was nothing up front, on top, or bottom that gave a clue. Only the back panel had hex head steel screws. I removed them and the panel. Then I removed a tube that pulled air from the drum to the outlet. I saw some screws holding the back of the dryer top. After removing them, the top popped off by pulling it up and releasing the attachment at the front.

This gave me access to a couple of screws holding the top of the front (holding the door). It seemed to make sense to lay what was left of the dryer on it's back. After removing the last two screws at the top corners of the front panel, I pulled it up and removed it. The drum lifted right out. The belt tightener was loose and lying against the back wall.

The local Sears did not have a replacement belt and their web site was not that helpful or forgiving. A Google search revealed a site called PartSelect. It had a very useful search routine which led me to make a purchase on a Saturday evening. The belt arrived at my door on the following Tuesday! Be sure to look at the instructions that come with the belt, it will demonstrate how to fish it through the loose belt tightener.

In about 1.5 hours the dryer was back together and doing it's thing. There were two additional screws left over, but I figure that's a manufacturing defect.

I was a hero to the wife, as usual.

I googled 'replace dryer belt' and found instructions on the 'Virtual Repair Man' web site. After reading the instructions through twice I began.

First I removed lent filter and removed the two screws that hold the lent body in place. I rotated the top panel up and back and leaned it on the wall; proped up the dryer drum with some scrap wood pieces; rotated the front panel of the machine out enough to slip the new belt, groves down, around the drum; reinstalled the idler pulley under the drum; raised the drum slightly and reattached the front panel. Reattached the top panel and replaced the filter. Did a test run and worked good.

I got a price from Sears for the part and they were asking $45 just for the belt. I saved enough in parts and labor to take my wife out for a real nice dinner. thanks

Disassembled dryer to gain access. Cleaned out dryer and installed new belt. Reassembled dryer and checked function.

first pryed up the dryer top, pulled the two wires for the door switch and removed front panel. remove 8 or 10 blower housing cover 1/4" screws. removed blower moter shaft snap ring pulled out damaged blower wheel. slid on the new wheel with the flats on the shaft and new wheel alighned up. installed blower clamp around blower stub. installed motor shaft snap ring. reinstalled blower cover cover. installed front dryer cover to include installing door switch wiring. put down top and pushed dryer back into place making sure to install the blower vent hose. started dryer to test operation. all worked well the first time.

Unplugged the dryer. Released the two forward sping clips holding the top in place and hinged it open. Removed the two 1/4" screws(one on each upper edge of front panel). Disconnected the door switch. Pulled out and up to remove the front panel. Located the cycling thermostat on the blower housing. Disconnected the thermostat wires, removed the (2) 1/4" screws. Installed the new thermostat and assembled in reverse order.

First I removed the back panel (and found out later when I received the belt from Partselect.com, that this was unnecessary). I followed the instructions that came with the belt and removed the top panel and then the front panel. I placed a piece of wood under the drum for support so that it would not be just hanging from the back. Then I found the broken belt lying on the bottom, and a pulley that was unhinged. I replaced the pulley following the instructions, and vacuumed the motor and all around. I put the new belt around the drum and then through the pulley and onto the motor axle. I replaced all the panels and the dryer is now working like new.

My Dearest One removed the screws that held the part that covers the bulb; removed the old bulb, put in the new bulb and replaced the cover.
The whole operation took less than 5 mins.

the same way it was described on your site, this dryer is nearly 17 years old, I've needed to change this at least 5 times.

Lift top of dryer. Remove two 1/4" screws that hold the front panel. Disconnect the two wires on the door switch. Lift front panel to remove. Lift drum enough to install the new belt. Reach in to place the belt on the motor and tension pulley. Replace the front panel. check for free rotation of the drum and belt. Close top. Done.

When the dryer drum stopped tumbling, I followed the instructions on PartsSelect to remove pop the top of the dryer and then remove the screws to remove the front panel. Then I could see the broken belt underneath the drum.

I did pull out the drum itself to get a better look at the motor and pulley to see where the new belt would need to go. I replaced the drum by pushing it back and then rotating it so it would fit back into the groove on the rear panel.

Once I received the new belt, I followed the steps included with the belt package to loop the new belt around the drum and then thread it over the pulley and around the motor.

The entire repair was very easy and so much cheaper than buying a new dryer.

First of all let me begin by telling you that this was my first D-I-Y project. The dryer had been out for over a month and the clothesline drying of clothes, while being energy efficient, did not go well because it was the summer/fall borderline and the ants and bugs were inside the clothes which were brought into the house.

I googled my problem and soon enough there were a ton of helpful sites available offering solutions to my problem. So, after I decided to do it myself, I ordered a new belt from part-select. Once the belt arrived, I went back to for help. There was an extremely useful video among the results. The whole thing took me about 20 minutes as I was doing it all by myself. I followed the steps and was able to replace the dryer belt very easily and I am so very thankful to have a working dryer again before the onset of rain and cold!
